  • How did the OHS tourney finish for g-son and his team.
Also was able to track down the 500 and 700, they are not junior but ITF rankings.
Impressive. I am sad to say I never got to see any of the older Buckeye greats, since my fandom began in the Tressel era. In 30 years though, I'll be telling those young 'uns about "that Beanie Wells" and the old geezer, Troy Smith
Just another tidbit, the longer the wait on Bjorn Frantangelo, the more likely he turns pro.
Many think the invitation to train with the Davis Cup team gave him a taste for the pro tour.
The success of a fellow Junior Jack Sock has also some influence for skipping the college experience.
Thank you for all the insight. Glad Mr. Tennis recruiting is still on his game! :)
I would love to see Rola stay for the whole year. Rola did not finish as strong as I am sure he hoped he would, Losses to King, TSUN, #2 Kalmanovich from Illinois, and one other (Neb?) must have discouraged Rola as the season wound down. We will see if Ty can work his encouragement and challenge Blaz to go out with the record for the most victories in the OSU History books. (he is on track)!
Ty tried Vick out earlier in the year at #3 slot but he struggled to win, seems to lack a big weapon -- unlike Kobelt.
Would love to see Frantangelo (Pa kid) in S & G. He would dominate in the NCAA like Mitchell Frank did last fall.
Thanks for the update on the two German athletes. (any idea of names? would love to research them on the ITF site) International tennis Recruiting is so strong. Tuck has always recruited American seniors hard, but he also seems to know where the next champions are being trained.
    legitimate excuses?
bucks dominated in cbus, but sometimes things just don't work out ;(
would love to get into the 2 - 3 seed NCAA bracket but doesn't look likely
I saw Diaz hit with the team, looked so young, I honestly did not realize he was a member of the team, I have not seen him play competitively.
    Not even?

My response to your rep comment "we differ on all-time favorites. Mine might be Stokes or even Jent. Never was a big JJ fan... sorry." is: :p

OK, I guess you are entitled to your opinion. I really started getting into Buckeye basketball in the JJ era which is probably why he is still one of my faves. That team with JJ, Treg Lee, Perry Carter, Mark Baker, Jamaal Brown, Lawrence Funderburke, Chris Jent... that '92 squad should never have lost to scUM in the Regional finals. :( IMO, the best Buckeye squad to not make the Final Four.
