  1. OL Doug Datish (official thread)

I feel ya, my last name is german and noone can spell (or say) it right. But hey, I'll call him what I want:tongue2: However you spell it, he and Boone make an intimidating left side.
  2. OL Doug Datish (official thread)

The good news we really need one interior lineman to step up. Rhering can man tackle. Honestly, starting two real tackles is a step up from what OSU has had recently. Having 3 with talent and some experience is a real bonus. We've heard a lot of good stuff about both Cordle and Skinner. Let's...
  3. OL Doug Datish (official thread)

Datish on the OL http://www.theozone.net/football/2006/fallcamp/noteandquotebook080306.htm Lots of speculation on if Datish would play center or guard, and from this article it sure seems like he's a center. My guess is Rhering nails down the starting LG spot and gives us one massive OL...
  4. Former LSU WR Xavier Carter

I think Carter should go down as the perfect example of a track guy playing football. He had practically unrivaled speed, but was never a dominant force on the football field. That said, he'll be a heck of a boost to our Olympic track team.
  5. Observations from C Deck (Iowa 2005)

Everett starts, but in Nickle Jenkins plays CB and Everett moves back to a safety spot. If they're 3 wide we have Salley and Everett deep with Whitner on the slot. Jenkins did get lost a few times, but I'm glad he's out there learning. He's got all the tools to be the next great CB at OSU...
  6. OU Thought

Unless OSU can win out I see no reason to hope UT loses. I'd much rather see them with a title than USC. I didn't see an offense last week that makes me think we can run the Big Ten. We'll see this week. As far as OU, I could honestly see them missing a bowl game. Talent wise they don't...
  7. Texas Tech Running Up the Score....

    Half a 30? We're getting cocky now.
  8. Buckeye Tailbacks - 2005 (official thread)

I wouldn't be surprised to see Haw only get one game suspension plus some "in house" stuff over the summer and in the fall. Just my opinion, no inside info here.
  9. New DC Thread (Merged all relevant)

Youngstown is a fine program on that level, they can recruit as well as anyone pretty much. Ohio is a fine place to get some talent too. I don't buy that excuse. Word from other places is Tucker gets first shot and Blackney is on the short list. Word of Davie, Pellini, and others seem to be...
  10. 2005 STUDENT Season Tickets Available!

Any advise on how to scam them?
  11. WR Albert Dukes (official thread)

He's a little bigger than Holmes but I see similar athleticism. In a 7 on 7 passing scrimage over the summer I saw Holmes working with him quite a bit on routes, and I saw Dukes using those lessons to get wide open. If he learns to run routes as well as Holmes he could be really special.
  12. Defending OSU

"Until then, Tressel-ball is Tressel-ball in my mind. My crystal ball says it's another year of grind'em out offense with suffocating defense. Throw in a good punter and place kicker, and the Bucks will be just fine." I'm honestly worried about this too. I remember the 2nd Fiesta Bowl...
  13. Defense w/o Mark Snyder

I'd rather have Davie I think. I like the fact he'd probably be here more than 1-2 years. We've been through some DC's recently, we need some stability there. I also think his style would fit in well. Snyder had success when he got aggressive toward the end of the year.
  14. Defending OSU

"If they put 8 in the box then you run a PA pass 15+ yards down the middle of the field..." The problem, and a huge weakness for OSU the last few years, is we haven't had a play action that could hold anyone. It's a reason teams have done such a great job against our run IMO. They don't...
  15. Defending OSU

If OSU used our personel right over the last few years noone could've put 8 in the box on us. OSU should abuse people with Holmes more this year. Ginn has become the #1 priority and the guy who defenses will focus on. Holmes one on one is always a mismatch in our favor. Gonzo is a great #3. He's...
  16. 2005 Winter Conditioning (official thread)

Gonzo isn't just quick, the boy can flat out run. He's "deceptively fast", as they say. I watched a few practices and he had TD after TD where he'd be open deep, and you keep thinking "how's he that open?". Then you realize he's just running past guys while they worry about Holmes. As far...
  17. RB Erik Haw (official thread)

"but as ive said before had a hard time picking up the schemes (especially pass blocking which are extremely difficiult) he also had a small knock for not always going 100%. though right around the first few games he had a couple of 'talks' with the coaching staff and they hae really seen an...
  18. RB Erik Haw (official thread)

If I'm Texas I throw the book at us on blitzes. Inexperienced RBs and a QB that started half a year (no matter who starts) could lead to a lot of sacks or mistakes. I'm really hoping Pittman and Haw have learned to pick up blitzes and that our playcalling helps take some pressure off. I'm...
  19. '02 NC INT Rebuttal

Honestly, I've never had any problem shutting up Miami fans in person trying to run their mouth. Use Riptide's video that shows the absolute MUGGING of Gamble in the 4th quarter. At the absolute worst the call in OT was horrible, and was a makeup call for the non-call in the fourth quarter (and...
  20. Should recruits commit early?

I'd commit to the first school I liked that offered me and then still take visits. It might be selfish, but by committing early you're safe in case of injury. You can still take visits and change your mind, but it gives you a nice fallback. Brian Hartline is only at OSU because of an early...
