Whitfield... a real stand up guy. I think his tenure as the Board of Directors of the City Employees Credit Union has been pivotal in his tutelage of high school prospects.
IIRC the "Viper" position was the one played by Bobby Carpenter where he lined up at the SAM on all downs except on passing downs he was used on the line as a pass rusher. I don't recall seeing this position used since Bobby and was wondering if Sabino could fill this in '10 while sliding...
Agreed. I'm tired of hearing Saine being described as a small back or not an every-down back. The guy's 6'1" and 220lbs and he carries people. He just happens to have the added benefits of track speed and wonderful hands. What a mismatch he can create.
To anyone's knowledge has JT ever tipped his hand as to when he may decide to hang it up? With the coaching carousel at other top programs it is certainly comforting knowing we have a true Buckeye at the helm who isn't using his current position as a launching pad to his next hire. Here's hoping...

I'm looking for Sabino to step in at SAM for Spitler, as Im very excited to see Nate Williams at LEO on an every-down basis. However, the D may not look the way we expect, Fickell and Heacock will sort it out and put a quality product on the field. Who would have expected Rolle at Mike 2 years...
Agreed. It seems as though the LEO position was "created" for a player of Jamel's skill set. It's easy to root for a player who has taken his path of becoming a buckeye.
