Really appreciate that background, makes me feel a lot better about the pick and gives context to the criticisms. There's more questioning his talent and intangibles. I kind of thought maybe it's a good thing if he didn't play a ton in terms of health and longevity if the lack of snaps wasn't...
Any insight on why he played so few snaps? Was it injury or something else? He's exciting as a prospect and we should have a year for him to develop if he needs it, but I shared the announcers concerns on not playing much.
Mims concerns me with how little he played, but the upside is massive. We took a gamble there, but kind of got our hand forced after how the earlier picks played out (and not trying to move up). Seattle and the Vikings snag the best DL sitting there because we don't have the foresight. Mims...
Yeah I don't see him going anywhere, but the request is fluffin stupid for this one. Trey is likely playing for us (same for Higgins) despite the noise. But it does irritate you because our draft strategy could be drastically altered depending on either player returning or not.
He's murdering it, putting in the work on all the right areas. Listens to the staff and is enhancing his talent by droves. The hype train is real on this one.
Thought there were better options out there, but not my choice to make. As others said, glad he isn't in the B1G. Hope he does well in Boulder regardless of my thoughts on that program...when you have Gayle and Alford heading to AA, puts it into context a bit in terms of where former Buckeyes...
Him and Alford can sit on it. If you leave from OSU to that team, all well wishes are gone for good reason. There are hundreds of other teams to transfer to. I wish him good health and terrible stats.
Makes sense haha. Hope he can get one more, wrestling has a much shorter time clock than most sports. I think he is in his prime, but a rematch with Sadulaev seems inevitable. He can beat him no doubt, but the field will be tough.
Don't necessarily disagree there, but I feel like if Bradshaw doesn't transfer, then Felix doesn't move. Whether that's because he gets less NIL due to Bradshaw, or playing time. But it's whatever now, he's gone and we move forward.
You can't deny the B1G dominance in wrestling. From 57kg - 125kg, you have Iowa (Lee), Penn State (Zain), Cornell (Dake, lone exception), Penn State (Brooks), Snyder (Ohio State even though the announcers seemed to think he went to PSU just because he joined their club after college), and...
Exactly what I was thinking. Really seemed to be a symbiotic pairing. They are competing for minutes to some extent, but I was visioning them both being on the court somewhat frequently and pushing each other in practice. I don't think Bradshaw was being brought in to replace Felix is my point...
Absolutely, he's such a threat on the base path. If he gets a better eye for the pitch, he's going to be insane.
I also just realized we've won every game I've watched except one. So I'll take the blame for the losses.
I might run my first through a wall on Brooks beating Taylor for personal reasons, but that's how it shakes out sometimes. Awful, awful call stopping the match while David is in on leg and able to score. Who knows what happens, but you let it happen there.
Snyder is a huge positive though...
Only obvious to us fans, Elly is just figuring it out. But hell, almost every young kid gets in the same boat. Other teams and pitchers will realize he's more dangerous as a base runner, then they'll start throwing strikes again. Kid is going to be amazing if he keeps this mindset, love what...
Unreal. Beating Yianni is mind boggling. Seriously. Not like I need to say it, but the kid's a unique talent.
I hope so, so, so bad he wins his spot. Kid got robbed in Covid and did everything right. He really deserves his day, glad he keeps fighting for it.
