  1. LB Bobby Carpenter (All B1G, National Champion)

Bobby's been a pleasant surprise this preseason, I hope he continues to do well. I also think my Lions might have a decent defense overall this season, which is quite a change from the dark Joey Harrington, Charles Rogers, Roy Williams, Mike Williams days.
  2. QB Troy Smith (2006 Heisman Trophy Winner)

Screw Harbaugh (either, both, your choice). I hear the Vikings are in the market for a QB anyways.
  3. QB Troy Smith (2006 Heisman Trophy Winner)

Troy Smith was never a big interception risk. Didn't he have 30TDs to 5INTs his senior year? I'm not saying he doesn't or won't make mistakes, but he doesn't make them often. The minimal risk he does present is something you have to take along with the big clutch plays. Let's not forget the...
  4. Poor Fan Behavior

So you're saying fan behavior hasn't actually gotten much worse on the whole, reporting of it has just gotten better. Doesn't make it ok then or now, but an interesting story for people like me in their 20s that have been led to believe "bad fans" are something that started in the late 90's...
  5. QB Troy Smith (2006 Heisman Trophy Winner)

I think the best situation for him would be in Carolina. Just please, not the raiders. Troy doesn't deserve that.
  6. WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

That's why I specified that in his second year he was just the backup to Mock, and I didn't see much point in comparing the stats of a backup QB to a full time starter. But just for the heck of it, Young was 4/7 for 68yds and 1TD, 3 rushes for 69yds and 1TD in the 4th game of his second year.
  7. WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

Mccoy: 20/29 for 333yds, 3 TD and 0 INT. Young's second year he was backing up Chance Mock, 4th game of his sophmore season he was 15/20 for 189yds 2TDs and 0 INT, he also ran 5 times for 55 yards. Sanchez was backing up Booty. Tebow: 20/34 for 261yds, 2 TD and 0 INT, he also ran 27 times for...
  8. 2009 Polls - Regular and Pre-Season

Funny you should bring this up. CFN has Houston (22) above Okie state (23), and UW (16) over USC (17) over OSU (18)...but when it comes to Oklahoma (21), well the transitive property doesn't apply to their loss to BYU (25). :gobucks2:
  9. 2009 Polls - Regular and Pre-Season

Warning: Do not read while consuming food or drink. You are liable to choke to death and/or spray beverages on your computer if you ignore this warning. Well, CFN has their rankings up. Some notables: At least when you read their comments on the OSU game you know they're experiencing a...
  10. 2009 TSUN News (football only discussion)

I'd actually be ok with a 6 QB formation, as long as they were all Pryor clones. We already know he can catch...
  11. WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

lol, I like that. Could also be stupidly elusive.
  12. Two NFL players reporting missing after fishing trip

Sounds like the beginning of a bad joke. So a Lion and a Raider got on a boat. And lost at sea.
  13. Lamarcus Joyner (DB New York Jets)

I think it's a point in OSU's favor that LJ doesn't seem to be intimidated by anything...and I doubt a blowhard college coach will break the trend. I also agree with what you said earlier about LJ being the #1 target for this class. The last person I saw run away from defenders like he did in...
  14. Detroit Red Wings (Official Thread)

Well, the article has since been updated and they're now reporting a 12yr/72m deal, 6m/yr cap hit. Last few years could be a problem but for right now, and the next 7-8 years, I love the cap hit.
  15. Detroit Red Wings (Official Thread)

There are degrees of injury. Having a cold wouldn't stop you from showing up at work, but you might skip the company picnic. It's an exhibition game, nothing more. Why don't people get this upset when NFL stars don't play in every preseason exhibition game?
  16. 2009 TSUN News (football only discussion)

Scout.com: 2009 Pre-Preseason Rankings - No. 51 to 75 Mesko was a big help for them with a defense that could stop people. Their D last year got a bad rap because they were put back on the field after 3 and outs so many times. With the D they're going to field this year...ouch. Their offense...
  17. WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

I think Pryor progressed in the regular season amazingly well. I think he surprised everyone, coaches included with how well he was able to adapt. I think this led to the coaches trying to do too much with him during the bowl prep practices. All the QB work, watching tape, learning plays...
  18. LB Coach James Laurinaitis (2x B1G DPOY, 2006 Nagurski, 2007 Butkus, 2008 Lott, 3x All-American, OSU HOF)

What crap. If JL was afraid to compete he wouldn't have come to Ohio State in the first place, especially not to play LB. There's 3 full seasons of game tape out there on JL, 1 exhibition game with defensive scheme restrictions shouldn't be given the opportunity to outweigh 3 years of production.
  19. 2009 tOSU WR discussion (official thread)

Couldn't agree more. Ballard has made some great catches with his (very) limited opportunitites. I remember a great TD catch from Smith a couple years back, and a shoe-string grab that seemed impossible for someone of his size. I'd have been working up plays to get my big soft-handed TE down...
  20. '09 OH DB D.J. Hunter

Impressive, two headshots from a moving vehicle. He should consider the Army. Not the one at West Point, the one in Afghanistan.
