He was a regular poster on the on the recruiting board, which is where I became acquainted with him We
became friends on Facebook and I had spoken to him via phone on a couple of occasions. I got the news this evening of his demise. Please include his family in your prayers...

I've watched a few episodes of this program on the History Channel that reviews ancient battles. Today, they had one on about the battle of Marathon. During the program, one of the historians commented on the relationship between Athens and Sparta. He described it as, "Ohio State and Michigan...
If you're a Cavs fan like myself, the draft has been the highlight of the season for the past couple years. If you're an NBA fan, are really bored and have too much time on your hands, here are a couple of links for you...
A new series on the History Chanel, that I found highly enjoyable. They have covered Vanderbilt, Rockefeller, Carnegie, and Frick so far. Comparing the show to what Wikipedia had to say, it appears that 90% of the info matches up.
Quite by accident, I watched some of this young man's game against Chardon this past Friday. IMHO, he will be the next great player from OH that slipped through the cracks. The TV announcer described him as 5'10, 204. I believe they claimed he had 1300 yards through 5 games...
Got a taste of "ohio" football last night.:D:D

Surfing the channels, I came across this show on the Animal Planet channel. I thought it was entertaining in an odd way. The next three hours on AP, appear to be reruns, check it out. :)
I guess while I'm at it I should mention Kent finished it's season tied for fifth at the NCAA Championship.

Congrats and good luck to Kent State, as they move on the the Oregon Super Regional. Kent went 3-0 against Kentucky and Purdue to win the right to move on. Most of Kent's roster are local kids.

The State of Ohio did well producing talent in 2011, imagine if we had spring football to better develop talent.

In the next day or two, Gatorubet will pass the 20.000 post mark. Working with the mock draft thread, it came to my attention, Gator also sends a ton of visitor messages. Gator only joined the board 4 short years ago, so that's about a 12 post a day pace.
I had to asked him, after all these...
I have always been under the impression spring football practice would help out the quality of Ohio high school football. A link to an article in today's ABJ.
