Position: RB
Projected as: RB
Position Rank: 5
Date of Birth: 2/9/1984
Birthplace: Bowie, MD
Class: 2003 Senior
High School: Bowie HS
(Bowie, MD)
College: LSU

Biography:
Easily one of the top RB's in the region, Edwards may be the top running back in the nation this year. A good combination of size and speed, Edwards rushed for 2,170 yards and 30 touchdowns as a junior.

He was a Insiders & Rivals 4 star out of HS

He is looking at 6 schools (tOSU, Pitt, UNC, NCST, Miami and Michigan St.) tOSU, Pitt and one of the NC schools have the early edge.

He was behind Vincent and Broussard on the LSU depth chart

Edwards stats at LSU

He will make a decision this week

LSU had 3 freshman RB's last season, one of whom, justin Vincent, had a big year. instead of batteling it out w/ them for 3 years, he wants a fresh start.

Yes he does have to redshirt, but after sitting out he would be a sophmore in 05 just like kennedy would have, although kennedy may have been a R-shirt possibility.

Not a bad recruit to have around, but I can't help but cringe a bit at the idea of OSU taking the kid that lost the battle for PT. This isn't UNLV.

Tough to argue you are the #1 RB recruit out of HS but not the number one recruit at LSU.

To be clear on the question above a transfer does not have to wait for a 'scholarship' - only to be eligible to play.

I thought the same thing. This is tOSU we shouldn't need anyones hand-me-downs especially at running back.

edwards is one of the best special teams players on the team
and a quality backup RB, as well as a leader with his
emotion. if he's leaving its fine we can understand why since
he is behind 2 better rb in the same class
he
was a huge problem. It was only a matter of time before he
got kicked off the team. If he does come back, he won't
make through the season, I guarantee it.
those are the quotes i found on an lsu board.. im not sure if we really want this guy.

he apparently shot a teammates girlfriend in the ass with a BB gun.

In fariness, with the current popularity of tattoos among young women we don't know for sure she didn't have a bull's eye back there.

Good pickup on the quotes Soldier. I wonder if they came from the LSU equivalent of BP or their equivalent of BN.

So are you saying you wouldnt want Anthony Schlegal to play for OSU this year????? Especially since he came from that ever so powerful Air Force team, instead of a co national championship team. I dont think you can label a kid a "hand me down" because he couldnt get playing time over Ally Broussard and Justin Vincent and another quality upperclassmen in Shyrone Carey.

Anthony Schlegel didn't lose the starting LB job at AF to another player in the same class. I would gladly take a transfer of the starting RB from a school like LSU. Edwards lost the battle for that spot to two other Frosh.
