I think they either miscounted or meant to say he's joining six other commits. Our commit list is now:

Bemoll
Boone
Cordle
Denlinger
Hartline
O'Neal
Williams

We one 5-star and six 4-star commits...no one is lower than 4-star.

Well we have 2 5-stars, Boone and O'Neal and Williams is a 3 star according to TheInsiders. Just had to give you a hard time. I think we are the early #1 class and I hope it stays that way.

I think that our seven current commitments give us a top 10 class, regardless of who else comes on board; add Sanchez (or Schoenhoft) and Wells, and we're top 5, no doubt.

Hubs, my bad on forgetting about Boone being a 5-star, but I thought that Rivals gave Williams a 4-star rating...could be wrong. Kinda weird for him to be a 3-star with his being invited to the Army All-Star game.

Went to Bustnuts to see what they have in Bemoll's commitment over there, and the "Bemoll is now a Buckeye!" thread in their recruiting forum was started by a guy called "mad4football", and he started the thread with:

I just read it on the "other" site! Great news. Welcome aboard Kevin! GO BUCKS

The "other" site? Hmmm, I wonder if members over there are prohibited from saying "BuckeyePlanet"...

OSU Rob: I would disagree...there is nothing wrong with saying "Rivals says Bemoll has committed to us" since it's not premium info (at least the title of the article announcing Bemoll's commitment is public info), so if he were referring to Rivals, he probably would've said so. But saying "BuckeyePlanet says..." is not cool over there, thus "the other site" comment.

Procedural question:

I started a new thread announcing the Bemoll commit with a link to BSB. That got consolidated into the Bemoll thread. I absolutely applaud the consolidation of threads - it makes this recruiting board work very nicely. I also admit that I probably start new threads more often than I need to - bad habit I carried over from another board I used to frequent.

However, if there is major breaking news - specifically the commit of a player - I think it deserves its own thead for at least a day so folks will notice it. With the recent pick up in activity I don't read every update to the Schoenhoft and Sanchez threads and would hate to miss the big moment. After a day or so the announcement thread could be merged into the thread for that player.

Just my humble opinion.
