'05 CA OL Kevin Bemoll (California signee)

Procedural question:

I started a new thread announcing the Bemoll commit with a link to BSB. That got consolidated into the Bemoll thread. I absolutely applaud the consolidation of threads - it makes this recruiting board work very nicely. I also admit that I probably start new threads more often than I need to - bad habit I carried over from another board I used to frequent.

However, if there is major breaking news - specifically the commit of a player - I think it deserves its own thead for at least a day so folks will notice it. With the recent pick up in activity I don't read every update to the Schoenhoft and Sanchez threads and would hate to miss the big moment. After a day or so the announcement thread could be merged into the thread for that player.

Just my humble opinion.

I agree with you, Oh8ch. I didn't merge the threads(don't be mad at me :p ) but the idea of letting a thread announcing a commitment stand on it's own for a day or so is definitely a good one and that's how we'll handle it.

I agree Oh8ch. I also think it's a good idea to retire threads after so many pages and allow new ones to start on the same topic so that newcomers to the thread don't have to wade through an encyclopedia to get there.

But then again, I'm just happy to have a great free message forum related to the Buckeyes to go to.

The star ratings may be bogus, but ...

In 2002 and 2003 we landed 5 OL - three 3 star, one 2 star and one 1 star (that doesn't include Morris and Mangold is the 1 star - LOL).

In 2004 and so far in 2005 we have 7 OL - two 3 star, four 4 star, and one 5 star.

(None of this counts players who have moved to OL because they weren't rated at that position coming in.)

Can anybody find all the threads on BN that said OL don't want to come to OSU because they don't want to play for Bollman?

I also recall a comment from Bollman following Spring practice where he said he had more OL in camp than he has ever had at any school in any year. Now consider that we only lose Kne and only Rehring of the 4 incoming OL was at Spring practice - that's plus two. Then add anybody who might come early (anyone know if Boone is thinking of doing it?). Wow.

This is a really exciting commit. The OL talent pipeline looks solid for years to come, and is national in scope. I've been hoping that Bemoll would be the next of the MV3 to pull the trigger, and getting two great kids out of MV is also a great in-roads into Orange County, which has quite a few good football programs

Welcome to the Buckeye nation! :oh:
