still waiting on an update from HH...Iowa insiders are saying Hodge is a done deal to Iowa. With Spitler, Laurinaitis (probably), Lenix (probably), and possibly McCoy and Mathis in the fold, I don't think Hodge is a huge priority anyways...

A commitment from the Florida-based brother of Iowa starting linebacker Abdul Hodge could be coming soon.

Seated near Eubanks courtside during Friday's Iowa-Iowa State men's basketball game at Carver-Hawkeye Arena was Elijah Hodge, brother of Iowa starting linebacker Abdul Hodge.

Elijah was a senior linebacker at Dillard High School in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., last season. He has narrowed his choices of schools to Iowa and Ohio State.

"He's a little more emotional than me," Abdul Hodge said of his 6-foot 190-pound brother. "As far as our playing ability - he has the same intensity as me. They say he's faster than me, but I have to argue about that. Maybe we'll get a chance to race sometime."

I am still VERY, VERY confident he will be a Buckeye.

He will be going to wisc. as a courtesy visit as the area coach is from Iowa, and he knew him when he was recruiting his brother.

He is the kind of kid that will come back fired up about every visit.

But when he gets back next weekend, after some reflection time, look for good news.

sounds good with mathis most likely going to UT we're going to have to focus on Hodge and McCoy

If Helpinghand is confident, then count me in as being confident :)

Elijah denies a leader. He will go to Wisky this weekend and then when he feels right, he will make a decision.

Thomas Matthews (same HS- Dillard) was his host on his tOSU visit. He really enjoyed the game day atmosphere for "the game". Plus he really likes the tOSU coaches (Hazell and Fickell).
