'05 FL WR/DB Eric Sledge (Florida signee)

Buckskin86 said:
He likes Auburn, NCST, Ohio State, West Virginia, scUM and Louisville. All have offered- he will pare down to a top five after Christmas.

Well, I think it's safe to say he's already pared those six down to five, based on his less-than-glowing statements about his WVU visit.

He feels he could make more of an impact at WR vs. DB because of his size and athletic ability.

He visits L'ville this upcoming weekend, tOSU or UNC on Jan. 14th, Ole Miss on Jan. 21st and maybe ND on Jan. 28th. He has already visited WVU.

He says he is wide open with no leader.

Great article by Dave Biddle. Eric has put on at least 10 pounds of muscle since the end of the season and is now in the 6'3" 200 lb range. He has not been overly impressed with any school yet. He is scheduled to visit tOSU on 1/21 and said if the visit goes well he will commit on the spot. Eric doesn't know much about tOSU besides the staff is made up of "good people" and the Bucks won a NC a few years ago. When asked what he thinks of when Ohio State is mentioned, he answered "Teddy Ginn." He wants to play WR in college but is growing into a good mold of a safety. However, he feels he can get on the field faster at WR.

Isn't that refreshing to hear! Thanks for the update grad.
Having a freshman become a star is going to help this class definately. They see a guy who can come in and contribute like that and know you can win BECAUSE of him. It definately helps having a major star that is only going to be a TRUE sophomore which tells people they can play right away and the best players WILL BE on the field no matter the seniority.

To be clear, he did not say if his OSU visit went well he would commit on the spot. Referring to visits in general, he said if he liked a place enough he could end the recruiting process right there. That certainly doesn't rule out a commit this weekend, but in no way to Sledge indicate he was planning on commiting to tOSU.

If Ohio State gives me a really good feeling on my visit, I’ll commit.”
I guess it lies in your interpretation...I'll stand by my original statement.
