'05 GA WR/DB Carlos Thomas (South Carolina signee)

He's just been off the radar for a while because he's been a GaTech commitment for a while but now that thats done we have as good of chance as any..

Both times he's had 2 leaders latlely we've been one of them.

OSU and LSU...then SC and OSU

I think we land him..

How about reading the thread before posting, Einstein? :roll1:
i have! i think just getting involved will only make things harder for us. Our past has shown that it is hard to bring someone in from the south. But, come on Carlos were waiting for you.
That was a nice first conversation from you Milliani(einstein)

On theinsiders update Thomas indicated that TOSU and South Carolina were his new leaders. I think he is ours w/ a good visit, as long as Spurrier does not convince him that South Carolina will be a champion team instantly.

I think LSU is definitely out, if they weren't already, after how clueless the LSU defenders looked against Iowa. The announcers called them out multiple times on rookie mistakes of not knowing whether or not they had safety help on various plays.

EDIT: I was just making a knee jerk guess. I know they're still in the hunt, I would just guess that he would not be eager to be coached by LSU staff that fail to teach their seniors to know when they have safety help.

Basically the same update as Skin's but this one from SCVarsity--

Thomas says that USCarolina tops his list. Ohio State, Florida and LSU are also still in the running. He has a visit set with the Gamecocks for January 28th. LSU has dropped down on his list with the coaching change, and Ohio State has told him he could both ways for them, and South Carolina wants him as a receiver. USC is at the top because of that. He currently doesn't have any visit set with Florida, but is still considering the Gators, who want him as a receiver as well. Thomas originally committed to Georgia Tech in September, but de-committed saying that Tech just wasn't the place for him.

Anyone see a correlation between Thomas naming Usc as his new leader and OSU offering McCarthy? Either the staff cooled on him or felt they didnt have a great chance to get him anyways.Maybe Thomas really wants to play WR and when looking at our depth chart sees a tough road to being an early starter. Who knows.

Guess I should have read who posted Usc as his new leader - SCVarsity.

If Carlos meets JT and Steve Spurrier and then decides on SC, tOSU doesn't really need him.

Spurrier is everything JT is not -- self-absorbed, cowardly, deceitful, a sore loser and a worse winner. He's one of those guys who was born on third base and thinks he hit a triple. When his ridiculous offense failed miserably in Washington, he lied to his players, left town unannounced and had his agent call in to declare he was quitting. He's pond scum.

I hope Carlos has the good sense to choose tOSU. But if he doesn't, JT hasn't lost the kind of young man his program is built on anyway.
