'05 GA WR/DB Carlos Thomas (South Carolina signee)

Kurelic Premium

Thomas watched the Alamo Bowl and he liked what he saw. The staff is telling him he could play as a freshman on either side of the ball. When asked if he would possibly commit during his visit this weekend he said "probably not" and mentioned he still had a visit to South Carolina lined up. Thomas says it's down to USC and tOSU and they are currently even.

Not what you like to hear when trying to snag a guy from the south. I would have liked to hear, "OSU is now my leader" right after the visit - someone will blow him away and he could forget all about his visit here.

With us only getting Amos an Hartline in this class and Amos possibly playing DB, I really wanted this kid. He has nice speed and seems very versatile.

HH, any insight here as well?

I agree. When you get these kids from out of state, you want them to leave blown away. If they leave saying, "it was nice, but im taking the rest of my visits, and all teams are even", then i wouldnt get my hopes up too high.

My money's on SC. It's right up the road from his home and Steve Spurrier will convince him that WRs do very, very well playing for him -- whether he's got 3 or 23, they'll all catch a lot of balls.
Just read that Jared Cook committed to SC over the weekend. I think they already have 3 other incoming WRs. I would think this has to factor into Thomas' decision.

Carlos Thomas set to visit South Carolina

He says he had a good visit to Columbus. He had fun and was treated great by everybody. He especially liked the Shoe and the other facilities. He rates the visit an 8.5

He is visiting SC this weekend. He has been there before.

Playing time is very big to Carlos. So is the "academic support".

He claims no leader and won't give one at least until he has taken all of his visits.
