'05 GA WR/DB Carlos Thomas (South Carolina signee)

I know tOSU helps their kids out in great ways not related to Clarett's crap, I'm just curious what he's looking for. Other non-ESPiN-targeted schools could get away with more "academic support" than we could too.

College Park (Ga.) four-star wide receiver/cornerback Carlos Thomas took his official visit to South Carolina over the weekend and came away so impressed that he decided to commit. What does Coach Spurrier have planned for the 5-foot-11, 170 pound speed merchant?

Thomas Comments On Commitment

By Phil Kornblut
WR Carlos Thomas (6-1 182) of Atlanta committed to USC during his official visit over the weekend. "I liked pretty much everything," he said. "I felt comfortable. That's why I committed. And playing time." Thomas said he could play receiver or cornerback. Ko Simpson and Fred Bennett were his hosts. He is canceling visits to Ole Miss and Florida. The Spurriers are to be in his home Tuesday. Carlos is the second member of his family to commit to USC. His brother Levon committed out of high school but later signed with Georgia Tech.

Well Eric Sledge now definetley is a need for us. Glad HH says hes pretty much a done deal

Obviously this is not a good or funny thing, but just reading CoosMeisters reactions on this then the Sledge thread is pretty damn funny.....

Sucks about these 2 though. :( Plan "b?" "c?"...........

I will still have faith- for now.

Now this may seem awkward, but I think that McCarthy is now the key recruit if we want some depth at the corner position. Hopefully we can get someone because it looks like we don't have too many candidates left. Carlos Thomas and Eric Sledge gone, and now we can't strike out on hardly anyone.

Boo-urns. I really liked the potential of this kid and I thought we needed another corner in this class (although McCarthy could easily do that). Can't fault him for wanting to play for an up and coming program (likely) closer to home, though. Not a great recruiting weekend for the Bucks, in comparison to what they lost, but I think the next few weeks will turn out ok.
