'05 IL OL Dan Doering (Iowa signee)

I was discussing Shawn Oatis with someone on the U.S.C. staff to try and get a feeling why they weren't interested, and he mentioned that they were cooling on Doering based on his senior year performances so far.
and I hope they keep cooling off... Doering's TEAM basically sucks... (they won the last game on a long INT return.. guy making the INT is quoted "I felt somebody push me in the back and somebody else yelled 'run' ") .. duh... so that's probably a good reason for his performance... generally game articles imply his QB and RBs aren't exactly sterling...

I think Iowa is the one to watch for Doering... but we're not out of it...

Barrington Broncos 40 - Schaumburg Saxons 7

Head coach sites Doering's block on a screen pass that went for a TD the key play. The reporter described it as 'Doering erased the Saxon defender'...

Anyone confirm Doering is still going to be in the Horseshoe today?

More than two dozen high school prospects were hand as Ohio State returned home for the first time in nearly a month to host Wisconsin. Among the top high school talent was five-star offensive tackle prospect Dan Doering of Barrington, Ill. The 6-foot-6, 300-pounder is rated as the No. 3 offensive line prospect in the country by Rivals.com.[more]

Probably a good bet he'll be attending the Iowa/OSU game next week, no doubt OSU's performance or lack thereof will go a long way in saying whether he'll official visit OSU...it will be interesting to hear his comments----5th largest crowd and the atmosphere seemed to be as per usual...

I talked with Dan and L Wilson & parents for a while yesterday. My personal oppinion based on my conversations:

1. Wilson will ready to make the choice by mid Nov. They are all just tired of the phone calls and recruiting process. Additionally, his coach doesn't like him taking visits during the season. His punishment, not starting. Just a gut feel from him and family, but I really think he will be a Buckeye.

2. Dan and family enjoyed their time here. He wants to really take his time. They are really well thought out people, who really want to investigate every detail slowly. IMO, I don't think he will be a Buckeye.

3. I do know that Bollman will not get both Ronnie Wilson and Dan. There is at most, 1 OL position left.
