Then congrats to Jairus Byrd.
Voting for The Associated Press defensive rookie of the year award, as voted on by a nationwide panel of media members:
Player . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .Votes
Brian Cushing, LB, Houston . . . . . . .39
Jairus Byrd, S, Buffalo . . . . . . . . . . 6
Clay Matthews III, LB, Green Bay . . . 3
Brian Orakpo, LB, Washington . . . . . .2
Brian Cushing of Houston Texans named AP defensive rookie of the year - ESPN
Yes Byrd is the obvious next choice, unless AP voters think a LB deserves the vote and then they might opt for . . .

Clay Matthews:yow1:

Now, I also agree with the AP's decision to keep Cushing in contention for the award. It's up to the 50 voters to decide -- just the way it should be. If a majority feel he should be the defensive rookie of the year, then so be it. But I won't be one of his supporters. I'll spend the day considering my options, and I'm leaning toward Green Bay outside linebacker Clay Matthews as my revoted choice.

BTW, Don Banks, also of SI.com has said that he plans to vote for Cushing again. He says he feels it sets a bad precedent. If Cushing's award is re-affirmed by a new vote, I don't want to see another article again decrying steroids, spygate, player conduct or anything else that deals with the integrity again. Think about the bad precedent gets set by knowingly awarding this player.

Apparently the thing that Cushing tested positive for is a naturally-produced substance, and it was "slightly" elevated.

Also according to ESPN, he wouldn't have tested positive before last season.

The substance is apparently used after taking steroids to generate testosterone production after using steroids.

(It's called hCG)

Yeah the moment I saw that idiot King saying he was going to vote for Matthews I spit my soda all over the keyboard.

Now, just because Fathead is for this re-vote, I'm against it.

What a joke. Like I said, I don't want to see another story about steroids or the integrity of the game or anything like that. They failed to do anything about it when they had a chance, so why should we bother listening or reading from this point on?
