Alex Daniels
Columbus (OH)
Marion Franklin - Transferring to Brookhaven for his senior year.
Safety / Outside linebacker

Height: 6-foot-3
Weight: 220 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.52 seconds
GPA: 3.0

Biography:
Fine athlete who can play multiple positions at the next level. Played safety and fullback primarily during his junior season; rushed for 800 yards and 8 TDs and had 72 tackles

Recently called a "Freak" by Jeremy Crabtree of Rivals, Daniels was one of the biggest surprises at the Columbus Nike Camp. With great size and speed he could play a number of positions at the next level including TE, S, and OLB being pssobilities. Has the speed to play receiver but didn't catch the ball particularly well at the Nike Camp. Early on Daniels has interest in Ohio State(favorite), Florida State, USC, Purdue and Wisconsin, among others. Currently he is working on his test score and feels if he gets a qualifying score Ohio State will offer. He is being recruited by Luke Fickell.

Nice update...

Is it me or are more and more HS kids getting tat's these days... doesn't the parent need to sign off at the tat parlor?

Nothing against tats... I have a fraternity related one, that was inked back in college... I don't recall that many HS students having them when I was in HS...

Good question and no, it's not just you. Only one of my friends in high school had one and his name was Tat(Go figure). Seems like more kids have them than don't these days.

Duane recently compared him to the late Dru Humphrey as a RB and really loves his size.

gbear,
I was thinking the same thing, especially the kid behind Daniels who is "misunderstood." Whatever. Anyway, I found this article yesterday about high school kids in the Cincy area getting sick from this guy running an illegal tatoo operation.

Illegal Tattoo Operation

Police said an illegal tattoo operation has been uncovered, and as one teenager recovers, health officials warn there could be more infected children.

According to local police, as many as 150 students from four area high schools could be affected, WLWT Eyewitness News 5's Juliette Vara reported Friday.

The Hamilton County Health Department issued a warning Friday that the children could have been exposed to serious illnesses like hepatitis B and C, possibly even HIV (news - web sites).

Police in Colerain Township said that Tony Pippin , 30, was operating an illegal tattoo parlor inside his apartment on Banning Road for at least six months, Vara reported. Investigators added that Pippin was not using proper sterilization methods.

Word spread around town to area students that Pippin was giving tattoos and piercings to juveniles without consent from their parents, police said. And one of the teens who got a tattoo from him reportedly got seriously sick afterward. And in recent days, more students are coming forward saying they've been ill as well, Vara reported.

Health department officials are warning parents of students at Northwest, LaSalle and Colerain high schools, as well as Diamond Oaks Vocational Center, to call their doctors if their children got a tattoo or piercing from Pippin.

Any idea of what they are looking at him for, LB maybe?

you know how much JT likes versatility- Alex is the classic case

he has mentioned that he can play at DE, LB, S,WR, TE and RB- he also mentioned that most schools think he is too big for RB and he might not have the hands for WR-he has not stated whether tOSU was recruiting him for one specific position- my guess is LB (WILL) but maybe he can bulk up to play the LEO position in a few years??

Rivals now has video of Daniels, mostly at RB and a little at Safety. He's a big hitter and and appears to have the mentality to play on that side of the ball. He does not have blazing speed but he's quick, has nice cutting ability and runs hard between the tackles. There weren't any clips of him catching the ball out of the backfield but they did have an interception on defense. Very nice looking prospect.

He is defintely not a RB, doesn't hit the hole hard, but he sure hits people hard!

That's funny because I think Duane recently said he has put Daniels as the top RB in state this year and compared him to Dru.

Duane obviously knows more than I do, but I don't see it. Ringer looks like a natural running back and Daniels doesn't, jsut my opinion though.
