Supposedly White really brought the wood at running back the last couple of years. This year he's moving over to safety.

I took this picture of Mitchum at the game Saturday and it has White directly in front of him. White is an impressive looking athlete but Mitchum is out of this world. He walked over to the stands and was signing autographs for the kids. There is no way that Mitchum doesn't see the field this year. The guy to the left of White is their coach.

There is a nice Rivals update on White. Apparently most of the schools recruiting him are looking at him as a FB, not a safety. He says he has no preference. He may camp here in June and said he has strong interest in Ohio State.

He also mentioned Kyle Mitchum is chomping at the bit to get to Columbus. :)

Insiders posted 2 videos of Jayson on Bucknuts. Very impressive looking runner between the tackles, something that seems to be lacking on most high school highlight videos. White looks to have enough speed. I hope the coaches aren't scared off because of his 40 times. I'm sure they're playing high level ball and a long segment appears to be from the championship game played on December 3.

tOSU wants to see senior film before they would offer as a FB- White seems to think an offer could happen- he was at tOSU senior advanced camp

this is consistent with what they told Shumaker and Clapp- it they offer a FB it will come late

IMO the OSU coaches are waiting to see what happens with Rashawn Jackson. IMO he is THE BEST FULLBACK PROSPECT IN THE COUNTRY. IMO JT wants a jamar martin type fullback that hits like a truck and clears the hole. Jackson is a beast and until he commits we are not gonna offer another fullback.

I guess. It seems like every year they come in with lofty expectations. Groh has been putting together some nice classes but still can't even win the league. With the addition of Miami and VaTech, I don't see how they could possibly ever with their own league.

I would think UVA would have a much better record than they do each year... they seem to pull some studs each year. Maybe not enough, but you would think the talent is there....

As I was reading this thread I was thinking the exact same thing. I'm not sure Virginia will ever be able to consistently compete with the likes of Florida State and Miami. The same can be said for NC State and Va Tech. Oh well.

I'm of the opinion we could use a FB in this class, if it's the right one. With Joe on the way out and Schnittker having only one more year Dionte Johnson is going to need some help. Clapp, Jackson and White are all decent runners but I'm not sure what kind of blockers they are.

What do we do with Stan White? He's kinda been without a position.

I know he's been referred to as an H-Back in the past and could probably rotate in at FB if need be. He's almost too small to be a TE.

White has an offer from North Carolina. Iowa and Boston College are recruiting him pretty heavily and he made an unofficial to Iowa(out in the middle of nowhere, which he considered a good thing. There was no mention of the Buckeyes in this article.

White's team plays Centerville this weekend and White will attend the Marshall game. His favorite is currently Iowa.
