'05 PA FB/S Jayson White (Ohio U signee)

Huge night for White (4 TD's) and McDowell beating Doug Worthington and St. Francis

McDowell blasts St. Francis

HAMBURG, N.Y. — McDowell traveled to Buffalo on Saturday night to face Buffalo St. Francis, the 22nd-ranked high school team in the United States and fifth-ranked team in the East, according to USA Today.

The Trojans left a 50-7 winner in a game that did not resemble what the national and regional rankings stated.

The Trojans (4-1) ran for 351 yards on 43 carries, highlighted by Jayson White's four touchdown runs in the first half.

White scored on runs of 5 yards and 2 yards in the first quarter, followed by touchdown runs of 5 yards and 3 yards in the second to give McDowell a 29-0 halftime lead.

McDowell had no problem charging down the field, mostly behind 6-foot-1, 220-pound senior fullback Jayson White. White bulled through huge holes created by the McDowell line and often dragged tacklers into the defensive backfield. White finished clinical drives with TD runs of 5, 2 and 3 yards before Justin Hammond (121 yards, 16 carries) took a TD in from 3 yards out. White finished with 93 yards on 19 attempts as McDowell rushed for 320 yards.

Iowa still leads over BC. White has a top 5 of Iowa, Boston College, Ohio State, Cincinnati and Syracuse. When asked when he might make his decision White is quoted as saying "That depends on my offers," he said. "Like I said, if any of my top five offer, I'd probably jump on it."

It will be interesting on how far OSU goes with Jayson. Ive seen this guy play and he is very impressive. He totally dominated Doug Worthington about 6 weeks ago. His kickout blocks against Worthington opened up the end for Mcdowells halfback to run for almost 200yds. Jayson had 4tds before halftime in that game. His blocking up the middle and on the edges is amazing, and he ran for over 1300 yds and 25 tds this year. He also can catch the ball. Mcdowell threw about 20 passes to Jayson and he caught all of them for over 300 total yds. They also started using him on defense in the playoffs, mostly DE and he was the fastest player on the field. I hear Penn State and Iowa are all over him!

Did he make it to The Game? If so, what were his thoughts on the game?

I hope we land him, but we may not have as much use for a FB if we fail to land a big back (Gwaltney) in this class. I think the Michigan game is a sign of things to come, with more plays involving options and using the speed players on either side of Smith (in the game it was Ginn & Pittman, next year it will also include Haw & Wells most likely).

That's fine in the middle of the field, but if you don't think a quality blocking fullback is a neccessity, just look back at our two goal line failures against the Michigan DL...first and goal from their 2 yard line on consecutive drives and only get 3 fucking points total. That's totally unacceptable. Those two Michigan goal line stands could've turned the tide against us...we may not be so fortunate if that should ever happen again.

Coach Daniels told Jayson, on his school visit, that he is on tOSU's radar. tOSU is looking for a big back for this recruiting class. He was told that there are 3 big backs on tOSU's list and they are looking to offer one. Jayson is hoping to be that guy. tOSU will review his game films and get back to him.

I was at that game last week in North allegheny against PCC. Jayson was the only offense for Mcdowell. He ran for 96 yards. Mcdowell should have given him the ball more often and i believe they could have made a game out of it. Where did you get that picture buckskin, where you at that game and are there more pictures?

Right now Dantonio isn't looking for talent

He's looking for breathing bodies. Cincinatti needs some MAJOR help.
You are referring to his team that has a winning record and is going to a bowl game correct?

I would hate to think you were resorting to hyperbole.
