Cedric is from the same school as Ben Person. He is considered the 3rd best OhioRB Prospect behind Ringer and Sutton. Tolbert is 6 ft 185 lbs

Cedric

The junior ranked 10th in the 2003 summer issue of Ohio's Future Stars is TB/DB Cedric Tolbert out of Xenia High School. At 6'0", 185 lbs, Tolbert is one of the biggest backs in this class. Leading the Greater Western Ohio Conference in scoring for the 2002 season, Tolbert registered 1,700 yards in total offense.

"He could be a defensive back at the next level , but he is really standing out as a running back and I think that's where he stays in college," says Duane Long, editor of OFS. "He has the opportunity to be the most unique back in the class simply because he has the size to be a between-the-tackles runner."

very positive update from Rivals- no suprise but tOSU is the team to beat- the bigger question is whether we will offer

there are some good RB options this year
Wells (Fla), Ringer, Sutton and maybe even Ray Williams if he does not qualify and his LOI to WV becomes void

How are Cedric's grades? It seems that OSU has had some bad luck recruiting RB's recently, as many of the top prospects have had grade problems (Williams, Russell, Shavers last year; possibly Ringer and Sutton this year).

3.3 GPA and scored a 20 on the ACT.

I hope he blows people away at camp a la Erik Haw and earns an offer. With all the potential grade problems that are in this class, I'd like to see the Bucks be able to take on at least a few skill position players before the season starts. Plus, I always like to see the Miami Valley boys make it with the Bucks!

Cedric Tolbert

This boy Cedric is the real deal fellas. i had to privilage of playing with him through my highschool career and this one is special. he is a great illusive runner with power and speed. he is by far the best overall back in Ohio. when you have a back that can run, illude tackles, catch passes, and be a team leader, you have one heck of a back. i normally compare his talent and running style to one of the greates back of all time..Barry Sanders. this kid has no doubt in my mind that he will succeed. He always puts in more work than everyone else. in the summer after weight lifting and after our sprints for summer workouts, hes out practicing his take off, spins, shuffles, catching himself with his hand, just trying to better himself. he is the most unspoken player on the field and proves how good he is on the field. the best athelete i ever played with. and good luck to you ced. According to Bill Kurelic, Cedric is now claiming five offers:

"I have five offers so far, Akron, Ball State, Eastern Kentucky, Minnesota, and Buffalo. As of right now those are my top schools."

"And of course I like Ohio State, being an Ohio boy. I always keep my options open for them. They were at my school and they called."
Kurelic on Tolbert (6/4/04)

Let's hope that Cedric camps at Ohio State, opens some eyes, and earns an offer. I'd hate to see Cedric become the next Ryan Brewer....

While you're at it, what's his 40 time while dragging a 250 lb. linebaker? I think that may come in handy

I'm not throwing stones at our O-line, I just want a guy with some leg power :)
