Konrad Reuland (R.I.P.)

wouldn't surprise me if the staff is playing it politically safe by not offering Konrad before Moline... maybe they want to be double sure... and when Fickell makes the final eval... they'll know just what offers they wish to lay out there.. maybe offer both at the same time...

USCFootball.com is listing Konrad as a priority at TE for USC in this year's class. Moline is not coming out here...word is that he is a USC/UCLA battle with UCLA having a slight edge with his brother headed there.

Im counting Moline out, It would be cool to go to school with big bro best of luck to him if he chooses UCLA.
But Konrad seems like a different story, I hope we offer sooner rather than later though so we will have that early love thing going for us in case his recruitment goes down to the home stretch.
Plus it can't hurt that he is from Ohio either.

perhaps reuland should look at this.

page 10 middle column is a TE breakdwn. Directly from the article "USC is 9 deep at TE."

They lost one of those 9, and brought in 2 in the 2004 class. I can't possibly see Petey trying to sell PT to this kid. Honestly, OSU needs to get on him early while usc is sorting out replacements for the exiting staff.

Seems like Mark Sanchez might be an interesting factor here. Assuming Chow is gone to the NFL, I wonder if Sanchez will start feeling like he was misled to go to USC? If so, he might not be as helpful in recruiting Reuland for USC as one might assume. Of course, if USC doesn't miss a beat . . .

Finally an update...

Rivals Premium

From the Nebraska Rivals site...Coach Callahan visited MV last year looking at Sanchez and offered Konrad. Konrad noticed their great class this past year and the fact that NU didn't sign a pure TE. OSU is mentioned as being a favorite because he lived in Ohio.

just read the update. good to hear that osu is sending him mail. sounds like if osu really goes after him hard, they have a very good chance. he wants to go where he feels comfortable and can contribute early. I'd say only having 2 TE's on the roster after this year qualifies as a chance to contribute early.
