'06 GA LB Marcus Ball (Florida State signee; transfer to Memphis)

he looks like a great prospect, but i wish he was around 10-15lbs heavier...
I would take him right at 200 lbs. Whatever school Marcus chooses, they will easily add 15 pounds on him within the first few months, and probably another 15-20 pounds before he leaves. For a good example of what a college strength and conditioning program can do for a LB, see: Carpenter, Bobby.

</TD><TD class=summary vAlign=top>While not as big as a prototypical outside linebacker, Ball more than makes up for it with his athleticism. The top overall prospect in Georgia is an excellent outside pass rusher from his position and is strong enough to reach out and make tough, one-handed tackles. Has Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Florida State, Oklahoma, Ohio State and LSU on his early list. Jeremy Patterson says: "A physical freak who is aggressive and a punishing hitter. Could be an amazing safety but is too good at linebacker to move him." [Ball Video]</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

Looks like a great prospect that would be great in scarlet and gray, unfortunatly I think he is a longshot at best to come up here... I see him going somehwere in Florida or to GT w/ his brother. BTW, I absolutely love the bold part.

UGA's got quite a few top notch players in camp this week. Ball, Hornsby, and Justin Williams are all going there. However, I don't think they'll get any of the 3 I mentioned.

As for Marcus, it seems that some who've played against him have questions about his attitude and football-smarts. He's a fantastic physical specimen no doubt, but from what I've heard, he might not be the best at reading plays and can get confused on the field pretty often.

A 'royale with cheese'
It's what "Pulp Fiction" fan Marcus Ball learned that the French call a Big Mac (not a football). Super 11 photos

JUST THE FACTS
Did you know...
All state last year with 122 tackles, 14 tackles for losses and seven sacks.
Bench presses 325 pounds, squats 425, power cleans 290. Runs the 40-yard dash in 4.47 seconds.
ALL ABOUT MARCUS
Position: Outside linebacker
Vital statistics: 6-0, 205 pounds
Scholastics: 2.4 GPA, awaiting first SAT result.
Colleges: Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU
If I weren't an athlete, I'd probably be: Customizing classic cars
My ideal car: 1972 Royal Blue Chevrolet Impala convertible
Favorite team, player: Atlanta Falcons, Sean Taylor
Favorite actor/movie role I would like to play: Samuel Jackson in "Pulp Fiction." He's a bad guy - a real hard gangster. He talks loud and he's funny. He killed some people. I've seen it like 50 times. It never gets old. I'll watch it any time.
