From EdgyTim...Jones is still focused on Illinois, but also looking at Purdue more. He is still open to all school in the Big 10.

Jones recently visited Iliinois with his mom and they enjoyed the trip. Jones says he wants to be 100% sure about his decision. Notre Dame and Illinois are his leaders.

From EDGYTIM...Demetrius enjoyed his trip to Purdue on Sunday. His top 5 is Notre Dame, Purdue, Texas, Louisville and North Carolina. He would like to decide soon.

With Henton on board and Williams as an option, I think it is safe to close this thread for the mean time...

Lexie Spurlock didn't quite betray Charlie Weis' big secret. But the Morgan Park football coach -- who is in almost daily contact with Notre Dame quarterback Demetrius Jones -- said Thursday that he believes his former star player will get the start for the Irish in the season opener Saturday against Georgia Tech.
Weis has refused to name a starter publicly because he thinks that will give him an advantage over the Yellow Jackets. Asked if Jones has told him anything, Spurlock said: ''All I can say is Chicago will be proud.''
''Everyone tells me that he's been getting most of the snaps, so I'd assume that we'll all be happy,'' said Spurlock, who said he spoke with Jones on Wednesday night and again Thursday.
Jones, a sophomore who didn't take a snap last year, has been competing with junior Evan Sharpley and freshman Jimmy Clausen.
''He had a good camp in the spring and the summer,'' Spurlock said. ''[Jones] has all the tools, and he is with the man who can polish them up. The sky's the limit.''

Better than being thrown under the bus by Charlie Boy. Good luck to him at NIU.

    ...and so it begins.
  14. How's this work since Jones has already transferred but played a game.
Does he have to sit out all of this season and next season or Just this season, or all of this season and 1-2 games of next season?

If he enrolls at N. Ill. within the first 12 days of their semester, he can play next year.
