'06 OH OL/DT Aaron Brown (Virginia Tech Signee)

what is impressive to me is that despite being offered as an OL, Aaron won one of the defensive lineman awards at the OSU camp last year. you know he must play with a nasty streak for that to be the case...

I saw him play two games last year and you are correct. The kid does have a big ole nasty streak...it was a nice match up of potential Buckeyes watching him go up against Connor Smith (OT from Cincinnati Colerain).

Both would look good in Scarlet & Gray.

I am listening to an interview with the Colerain head coach, Kerry Coombs, and he just said that tOSU offered one of his junior players a scholarship today...can anybody confirm who it was? There are only two possibilities in my mind and that would be Connor Smith or Cobrani Mixon.

Thanks.

Aaron's father George confirms the offer has been sent. Aaron received a call from 4 OSU coaches today. He is visiting this weekend for the Blue Chip banquet. Maryland, BC, Indiana, and Cincinnati have all offered, and they expect offers from Wisconsin and Florida by the end of the day. The family expects Aaron to have a decision made by the end of the summer. OSU is "definitely the team to beat."

I can easily see us getting Brown and Smith early. Brown's credentials speak for themself, and Bill Greene calls Smith the best OL he saw this year in Ohio not named Alex Boone.

I hope you are right about Smith...he really likes scUM and his dad, though a former Buckeye, is content to let his son make his own choices.
I give Joe a lot of credit for that. If it were my son, I don't know if I would be able to act with as much class as that. But word out of Colerain says that JT made the offer himself and that he really, really wants Connor.

You are right...I give his father credit. But I think our depth chart is also going to be a bonus considering we only took 2 OL this year.

And to clarify what brutus said...Kurelic never actually says he expects Brown to verbal this weekend.
