Wide receiver
St. Paris Graham
Height: 6' 5"
Weight: 185

Because of his height and leaping ability, Myles is an intriguing prospect. Ohio State is his favorite school.

St. Paris Graham is a Division III school in football; they are known for their marching band (linked below).

Yeah, actually, Graham is a nationally-ranked wrestling program ever since Jeff Jordan (former 4-time state champ) took over as coach a few years ago. They were favored to end St. Ed's dual meet unbeaten streak in Ohio a few weeks ago, but came up dismally short....

That being said, they have a very good basketball program this year (they are 14-2), and Myles Trempe is one of the leading scorers on the team. It is uncommon for a prospect from a rural community to become a Buckeye recruit, however. You get your occasional Donnie Nickey or Joel Penton, etc...always fun to follow these "underdogs."

Graham has a very solid football program, they are playoff contenders every year. The school I coach at beat them two years ago in the playoffs. Trempe would have been a sophmore then , but I didn't notice him if he played. I think it is important to have one or two kids from small town Ohio in every class-Hoobler, Penton, Spitler (even if Bellbrook is fast becoing another burb')-it maintains good relations w/ coaches, and keeps loyalty strong among fans-there will dads from places like Coldwater or Carrollton or Delphos telling their sons-"that kid comes from a place just like you"-and the kid remembers 8 years later when he is a stud player.

Graham is my home school. Nice place but they play weak competition. Their offense ran alot [as most high schools do].

I remember Myles from his freshman year, he was well over 6' then. He played well for a freshman but I can't say I saw him progress alot into his sophomore season. I moved away from the area last year so I didnt follow his junior year. I graduated with his older brother, Myles comes from a good family.

I have no idea on his speed but you can't teach height like that. He will need to put on about 20-30 lbs to excel at the next level. I doubt he is tOSU material but suspect he might make a MAC school very happy.

From Rivals100...Myles broke his collarbone during a pre-season scrimmage. He returned to the field in week 6 and his team went 5-0 after that. He has offers from Ball State and Kent. He is also considering Ohio and Miami (OH).

I don't know if I have told anybody on the boards this but I am a junior ar Graham and play football with Myles and him and I are pretty good friends. He has actually already verballed to Ball State already(might wanna change the title to Ball St. Soft Verbal). He broke his collarbone against Miami Trace making a great catch it was just a freak landing on the shoulder. However he came back after 5 games and did very good for us. He is 6'5 205 right now and he does have some ups. Also has very good speed(4.5-4.6 range) and good hands. He also has hardly ever seen the weight room. However he has been hurt alot and he is not quite an OSU type prospect but very close. Miami Oh. did recruit him but Ball State offered early and Miami didn't counter so he soft verballed to Ball State. They said they would offer but when he broke his collarbone they didn't contact him the whole time. Then when he came back and tore it up they were going to probably offer him but he didn't like how they broke off contact when he was injured and Ball State was true to him. Purdue and Indiana were both recruiting him and were going to see him play untill he was hurt. He also is a good basketball player and if he changes his verbal from Ball State it will probably be because of a basketball offer but he will probably stick with his verbal to Ball State. He could really end up being a very good MAC player and he is a great person to be around.

So what you're saying is that when Ball State offered, he gave a "soft verbal". Meaning he told Ball State he would accept its offer but was looking for a better deal. Then, when he told Miami that he already gave a committment to Ball State they stopped recruiting him.

Why would he give a committment if he inteded to look elsewhere?

I've never understood that. Don't give your word if you aren't ready to commit!

Then, after he gave his word, he was upset that Miami stopped recruiting him? If he wanted to go to Miami, why did he verbal to Ball State?

questions better answered by Myles himself. in the meantime, we can at least congratulate Myles on getting back on the field and performing well enough to garner an offer from Ball State.
