Why would he give a committment if he inteded to look elsewhere?

I've never understood that. Don't give your word if you aren't ready to commit!

Then, after he gave his word, he was upset that Miami stopped recruiting him? If he wanted to go to Miami, why did he verbal to Ball State?

No he accepted the offer and he intends to go to Ball State and I think he most likely will. However he was just going to look around to make sure he made the right choice. Just about all recruits do this so it's not a rarity. If you are in the position to go to a bigger university and have a better chance at more spotlight I think most recruits would take the chance. However like I said he will probably go to Ball State though.

Just for those wondering, Trempe will be signing with Ball State for sure on the 2nd. Their coach was in today giving him information on the signing process. Found out Miami OH. had an offer out to him as well though.
