'06 PA LB Dorin Dickerson (Pitt signee)

RIVALS.COM$ (Wisky Site)

4/6/05

Article talks about Dickerson a relationship with Ben Herbert, who played for the Badgers in the late 90s and early 2000s. Herbert is now a member of the Badgers' strength and conditioning staff and he still holds a relationship with Dickerson.

Dorin is very interested in the Badgers and he will be visiting Akron this weekend. He has been tagged as an "athlete".

He is listing Pitt, Michigan, Virginia and Ohio State. The Badgers, Boston College, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State, Pitt and Purdue have all offered scholarships.

Dorin is holding offers from Akron, Connecticut, North Carolina, Boston College, Purdue, LSU, Michigan, Pitt, Wisconsin, and Rutgers. He is waiting on an offer from tOSU and says they would instantly be in his Top 5. Dorin is being recruited by COach Daniels and plans to make a decision sometime after the season but before signing day. He will not attend any team camps this summer but will participate in the PSU Nike camp.

What position does he prefer, and does anybody know what OSU is looking at him as?
Dorin prefers offense (he plays RB and WR for his high school team), and several teams are recruiting him as a WR. OSU was recruiting him as a defensive player, and I personally feel that he would make a great free safety or OLB prospect.

Personally

I think he'd be an all conference on Defense and a solid player on offense. I think wherever he ends up, the team that gets him will shift him to defense. I've been saying for the past 4 months that this kid is in the top 3 of the PA recruits this year.

I guess that I'll have to move him up a bit.

Seriously, though, I think that he would make an excellent free safety or OLB; and I agree that he will end up on defense in college.

Dorin could play a number of different positions.

Personally I'd like to see him at WR. He ran an electronically timed 4.5-40 (which is plenty fast), measured in at 6-2, 205 pounds, had a 36 inch vertical and apparently could not be stopped at WR.

Dorin says he wants to play WR. I just think he is such a great athlete like many of you have said- that he could play WR/S/OLB/RB. Dorin really has potential to play any 4 of those positions and I'd say he is the 2nd best player in the entire state of PA next to only LeSean McCoy.

When you see him in person

you want him on defense. He is so aggresive and such a ball hawk, man Like LJB said OLB or Safety and he'd be a load to deal with. At WR, well he probably would end up like a Kerry Colbert, a great talent but not an elite guy. He'd be like Thomas Davis at safety.

Dorin is interested in USC, Florida, Michigan, Penn State, Pitt, Ohio State, Miami. However, only Michigan, Penn State, and Pitt have extended offers.
Iowa, Wisconsin, LSU, West Virginia, Purdue, Boston College, North Carolina, Akron, and Rutgers
have offered but Dorin is not interested in the schools. This summer he plans to visit Florida, Michigan, USC, and tOSU.
