Ohio State and West Virginia are emerging as the finalists for Woodland Hills receiver Wes Lyons, and both programs are trying to capitalize on impressive BCS bowl performances and projected top-5 rankings. Lyons attended the Fiesta Bowl to watch Ohio State, where his brother, Devon, is a redshirt safety for the Buckeyes. WVU receivers coach Butch Jones made a home visit on Thursday, where he watched the 6-foot-6, 214-pound Lyons work out.
"It's going to come down to where I feel comfortable," Lyons said. "Ohio State, my brother's up there. I like coach (Jim) Tressel. I think he's a good head coach. I know all the players, and everyone's real friendly. I like the tradition up there.
"West Virginia, I like the opportunity to play early. I like all the coaches. When I was there for my official visit, I had a good time." Lyons stopped short of saying that Boston College and Miami have been eliminated, but the firing of assistant coach Art Kehoe doesn't help the Hurricanes' chances, and the Eagles were a longshot from the start.

Although West Virginia has long been thought to be the leader, Lyons said his brother's presence at Ohio State will have an impact on his decision - which could come later this month.
"I think there's a push," Lyons said. "That would be real convenient. I feel comfortable there, too."

Wesley reiterates that WVU, tOSU, and BC are his favorites. He needs a few weeks to make his decision and will not take any other visits.

Note: BC and WVU have both used up their in-home visits while JT still has that trump card for the final stretch.
