'06 PA WR Wesley Lyons (West Virginia signee)

I like our position - it sounds like we may hold the cards a bit regarding Wes' recruitment at this point, with Bowman & Mathews seeming like real posibilities, Fields still in the mix,Small all but a lock(hand knocking on wood) & Josh C committed. To say this WR class is looking good would be an understatement.

IMO, most people would rather have Bowman and or Mathews and feel slighted that Lyons hasn't commited to the Bucks yet. If he really wanted to be a Buckeye he should have done it by now. Maybe I am wrong but that's what I think. IMO I too would rather have Mathews and Bowman and I have just never been excited about Lyons.

No offense 44820, but I agree there is no way I am going back through almost 500 replies to try and figure it out. Sometimes the only way to get the answer is to ask.

I did go back about 4-5 pages, but nothing I read answered my question. I've been up on current recruiting events and thus far I gotten the impression that Wesley won't become a Buck or fellow recruitniks aren't that interested in him. Whatever.

I think some people question his stats and don't like the fact that he is much more raw than Mathews or Small. Couple that with the fact that he has waited so long to commit and been so hot and cold with the Buckeyes, I think it has turned some off on him.

Great player if we can get him...give him a few years to develop and with that size he could be a good one. But if he is headed elsewhere, we will be fine. He is a good kid from a great family and I think all of us would prefer Wes make the decision that is best for himself. If that should be WVU, as I suspect it might be, then so be it.

Pitt Gazette

1/22

Woodland Hills receiver Wes Lyons was set to announce his college decision Monday at Station Square, but the closing of the Crawford Grill forced a change of plans. Lyons will now choose between Ohio State and West Virginia at 7 p.m. Thursday at Moy's Cove on Northern Pike in Monroeville.

Bad karma...

There's got to be some reason the staff didn't try, in the end, to snag Bowman. Either Chichester and Small is all they want, or they have a relatively certain feeling about one more WR. Could it be Lyons? I guess we'll find out on the 26th.
the way it stands now, we have 7 returning WRs, and the 2 incoming (as of now - yes assuming Small is a Buckeye) makes 9, which is what we had in '05. I think we may be set, but the staff did offer Wes, so if he wants to be a Buckeye, then we will certainly be glad to have him and welcome him with open arms.
