'06 TX QB Sean Hakes (Akron signee; transfer to Orange Coast CC)

We will be sending the Bucks a highlight film and 2 full game films asap.
As much as we would all love to see Sean in Scarlet & Grey, don't put all your eggs in one basket. Nowadays you really need to be proactive. Be sure to send the game films to every school Sean might have any interesting in attending.

We'd all love to see him be the next Krenzel guiding the Buckeyes to a national title, but unfortunately things don't always work out as planned and it is a very good idea to have a backup plan just in case.

Good luck and hope to see you both Columbus soon!

Just browsing around looking at prospects for the 2006 class and remember Hakes. This kid is a player, and judging from that Q&A that was done in October, he really wants to be a Buckeye. I mean, he lived in Ohio, he models his game after Krenzel, he says the 2002 Michigan game in which he was in attendance was the greatest experience of his life, etc. The kid is a 6'3" 200lb QB who runs a 4.7 and is looking to get faster, and probably will. He probably gets in invite to the Elite 11 camp and should be a 5 or 4 star QB nationally. If we can land him, we could be in the same situation we were in this year with Troy and Justin. Schoenhoft will almost undoubtedly redshirt and then he and Hakes could compete as Sophomores. Hakes seems to be a really athletic player and would be my pick as the QB we take in this class.

Next year looks like a very strong year for qb's. I think the coaches will take two with one being Hakes and one being Hartline, but lets not count out Schliter or Kirbus. I just think with all the talent that wants to come here you have to take two right?

I love the bloodlines that we have (Hartline, Schlichter) at QB next year, but this kid just seems so much more physically gifted. I would bet money he attends the Alamo Bowl, I think he is from the San Antonio area even (EDIT: sorry, see below, thanks Otis). I highly doubt we take more than one next year though. We will have Smith & Zwick as Jrs, Boeckman as a Soph and Schoenhoft will RS most likely... no need to use up a scholarship on a 2nd QB when we will already have 4 (not including the 1 in 2006) scholarship QBs already on the roster. If I am not mistaken, we will have less scholarships to give out next year as well. Anyways, Hakes is my pick for the c/o 2006.

Zwick and Smith will be seniors in 2006. Also, Boeckman will be a RS sophomore and Schoenhoft will be a RS frosh.

Taking two QBs in the 2006 class would give us four scholarship QBs in 2007 when Zwick and Smith are gone.

Pretty Cool

My roommate is a film major here at Ohio U and he edited a picture of Sean from his State Championship. Not a great action shot of him (fake handoff) but he did a pretty good job with all the effects.
