'06 VA WR/CB Damon McDaniel (Florida State signee; transfer to Hampton)

anything above and beyond the class we have would be fantastic...let's all sit back and enjoy as the LOIs roll in from all over the country tomorrow. I am hoping for McDaniel as much as anyone...and it would certainly help explain the staff's approach to DJ. But let's all treat it as a surprise tomorrow if we happen to get some good news, not the alternative, more excepted approach by some Buckeye fans...the Chernobyl-like Signing Day meltdown. For further reference, see: post #175 of this thread.

Keep in mind that we are not lacking in any single position this class. We have:

QB: 1 (Troy Smith clone to balance out pocket passers)
WR: 1 (at least)
RB: 1 (best player in the country)
FB: 1 (#2 FB in country)
TE: 2 (both could morph in OL)
OL: 2 (in additional to the TEs)
CB: 2 (one of the best in Ohio plus a diamond-in-the-rough ala Jenkins)
S: 2 (two under-rated, solid athletes)
LB: 5 (far and above the best LB class in the country)
DL: 3 (includes top DE in country)

One more WR or one more DL would be all we could really use...

Excellent, Excellent Post. Some people (over at sucknuts) believe that you need to have a ton of top 100 kids, and don't care which position they play. Ohio State has addressed their needs and Tressel is getting an incredibly balanced class. That's how you sustain a great program.

they cant even bitch about that because only usc has more top 100 kids than osu based on scout's rankings.

OK, who's masquerading as XC?
Believe it or not...I don't just disagree to disagree...just ends up I usually do with you, but that's okay, cuz at least with me you are cool about it. But this time though I agree completely. I really can't see any other school that did better than us in recruiting on a need basis. It's overlooked by so many people that recruiting is more than just 5 and 4 star recruits. Who knows how these guys will pan out...but if everything goes as it should tomorrow, you gotta grade this class as an A.

I guess Tressel's hotness extends past the last two games of the season.
