'07 AZ OL Kris O'Dowd (Southern Cal Signee)

probably identical to Bowers... probably considered a one-contract player.. then done... word on Bowers was.. they expected he'd be great in year 1 and maybe year 2.. but then knee would not hold up and he'd never make it to the second contract...

I completely understand that logic, but why wouldn't a coach/GM who is/are on thin ice take the chance? Surely there are guys who can envision being fired if they have a bad year, right? Two decent years with an incentive laden contract would be worth the risk.
