'07 FL RB Chris Rainey (Florida Verbal)

boy this situation sure smells like a cover-up.

Somewhat, yes. They did admit that he took stuff, but they said something like the cash, given to him valued less than 10 dollars and the store gives out free stuff from time to time anyway.

Anyway, 21-0 Lakeland at the half, STA has something like 3 fumbles and 1 INT, looking like the past 2 years again.

Holy cow, WHAT A FRIGGIN GAME!! STA just would not go away. They were down 21-0 going into the 4th and 28-7 with 6 mins left. Then their RB rips off a long one to pull within 14. The onside kick fails and Rainey rips off another long one for a 35-14 advantage with 4 mins left. STA's QB scores a long TD off a broken play to pull with 14 again with a little under 2 mins left. STA then recovers the ensuing onside kick, and scores a TD within 30 seconds to pull within 7. STA recovers another onside kick, with 1:24 left on the clock. STA scores the tying TD with 44 seconds left(aided by a horrible late hit call on Lakeland). Now the game is tied 35-35 going into overtime.

BEST HIGH SCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME EVER!!!!!!

1st OT(each side gets the ball at the 10, 4 plays to score TD or FG as usual):

STA ball first, and they score a TD fairly easily.

Rainey carries, had his shoulder dislocated and had an apparent TD, but ruled out of bounds at the 2(video confirms that it was a TD). Rainey goes out of the game, but it didn't matter as Jamar Taylor punches it in for the TD.

2nd OT:
Lakeland ball first, Rainey's back in the game(tough kid!), first carry for 5 yards. 3rd and 5 and he catches a terribly thrown ball at the 2. FG attemp good, Lakeland 45-42.

STA false start, 1st and 15. After two plays, STA down to the 7. 3rd down play down to the 1 yard line. STA goes for the win on 4th down, and was stopped by John Brown(5-star tackle) at literally the ONE INCH LINE, Lakeland wins 45-42.

This game is friggin' amazing. STA rallies from 3 TDs down with 4 mins left and scores 35 points in the 4th quarter to tie the game and force it to OT, only to lose it on 4th and 1. Amazing, thrilling, spectacular, and those words don't do this game any justice.

Hey, just thought you guys might be interested since two guys you're recruiting, Major Wright and Leonard Hankerson, play for STA. Neither made much of an impact in the game, though not due to any fault of their own. Neither Lakeland nor STA could throw the ball(terrible QBs), so Hankerson didn't get to make many plays, but he looked very fluid running routes, has great hands, and gets YAC. It's hard to tell about Wright's coverage abilities since Lakeland threw the ball like 5 times the whole game, but he did deliver some bone-crushing hits on run support.

Anyway, you only have to read it if you're interested!

Thanks for the update.

Not everybody around here is unappreciative.

Rod Smart, Rainey's brother and a former professional football player, said early Thursday morning that he believed Rainey lied about allegedly receiving gifts.

''That's [expletive],'' said Smart, a former Lakeland Dreadnaught. 'Chris was lying. Do they teach the kids to lie now too?"
So not only did Rainey lie about having things bought for him, but it's The Man's fault for having taught him to lie about that? A sterling defense by He Hate Me.
