'07 MD LB Pat Lazear (West Virginia signee)

The article didn't even mention the loss of scholarship to either Alabama or Ohio State. He will have to attend a lesser school, get lesser coaching, and have a longer shot at the NFL. All for $35.00 :shake:

Translation: When I call/text Coach Fickell, he responds.

Exactly...Pat is better off heeding his own advice, getting himself a job, working out, and trying to enroll in a school in June where he can walk on to the football team.

I know coaches can't comment, and I was surprised, but not disappointed, to see this from tOSU's SID. Hopefully this will stop Lazear from mentioning tOSU.

Edit - I noticed in his normal thread that Snapp had stated in November that tOSU rescinded the offer.

One of the more highly profiled recruits dealing with recent legal issues is linebacker Pat Lazear of Wheaton (Md.) High. Lazear served 10 days in jail last month for his role in the robbery of a smoothie store last March while at Whitman High in Bethesda, Md., his lawyer, Paul Kemp, said.

Lazear, who has graduated from high school, had pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit simple robbery and remains on probation, Kemp said.

Some major schools have stopped recruiting him, including national runner-up Ohio State, Buckeyes spokesperson Steve Snapp confirmed.

Pat's dad obviously isn't getting the message....

Rivals $

2/5

By Farrell...Pat's father says he continues to look at Alabama, Ohio State and West Virginia but won't decide until after NLOID.

The article says he holds offers from all three, which I still do not believe...just the other day his profile showed only an offer from WVU.

tOSU is not after him... But some Bama fans are unhappy with rumblings from their program that they are in pursuit of him...

West Virginia University football coach Rich Rodriguez was in Newport, R.I. the other day for the Big East Football Kickoff, and when the names of former WVU players Adam "Pac Man" Jones and Chris Henry were mentioned to him, as they likely often are, the Mountaineers coach was quoted in the Charleston Daily Mail as saying, "I will say this. I have a hard time controlling guys that I haven't seen in a couple of years. I haven't talked to them, but it keeps coming up on us.

"What I want to know is are they calling USC to get on them about O.J. Simpson?"

I'm wondering - and God love them, they've endured too much pain as it is - if people are calling Virginia Tech to get on them about Michael Vick?
