The Times West Virginian - Lazear: ?Judge me for me, not from the past?

My favorite quote from the linked article:

?Back at home, with The Washington Post and the writer named Josh Barr, he had it out for me. He was trying to win the Pulitzer off me,? Lazear said.

Good luck with him, 'Neers.

Ok, I know you can't hold a program accountable for what they do after they leave, but WVU seems to continue to get a pass for players like PacMan Jones, Chris Henry (both in pretty serious trouble while at WVU and now the poster boys for NFL outlaws). Now they bring in a kid like this? Not to mention how Noel Devine could barely graduate, but he all of a sudden passed muster to get into WVU??

The kid, and his parents, represent everything that is sick and twisted in our society's infatuation with sports. If you've followed this story, it's pretty easy to see that this kid is a reflection of his parents who, throughout this ordeal, have constantly proclaimed that he was the victim in the whole matter.
