Having graduated from Fairfield, I am really hoping that he can get his grades in order and come to OSU. It is sad that no one has explained to the guy that he has to have the grades to get into college. I sure hope he works had in order to get his grades in line.

I certainly hope this kid can get his grades in order and get into a school and recieve a great education. It might require Prep School, CC, or something else but if you want something bad enough you will make it happend.

With that in mind there is nobody to blame but himself for his grades. Obviosuly I do not know Dewey and it is possible that he has external factors that has casued these issues, but hopefully he can step up and get things in order.

My take: Dewey certainly doesn't look 239 in these clips, but he is adept at taking on blockers and either shedding them or at least filling a gap and letting someone else make the play. He seems to move pretty well laterally and gets very low on his tackles while keeping his legs moving. Seems destnied to play the MLB spot, and is very good at taking angles to reaching the ball carrier when he is crowding the line and/or blitzing.

Dewey has been selected to play in the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl, joining fellow Ohioan Antonio Jeremiah, Jermale Hines and Brandon Saine.

Great read...interestingly Dewey mentions that the OSU staff has talked recently to him about putting him at Fork Union and enrolling him the following year.

That is very interesting...Especially with the number of good lb's there are next year...To me that would say that they would rate Elliot higher than next years guys...

I'm surprised nobody has bought this guy up. He's a beast linebacker. He goes to my high school (Fairfield). I saw him play a couple games. He is a sure tackler. Very good athlete. He has OSU in his top schools.

The film doesn't lie.
Watch game tapes of Dewey Elliot, a four-star linebacker from Fairfield, Ohio, and you'll see he's one of the most intimidating linebackers in the nation. When it came time to invite players to the Jan. 4 Offense-Defense All-American Bowl in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., the decision to invite Elliott was an easy one. So was Elliott's decision to accept the invitation.
"I was going crazy when I heard about it," Elliott said. "I never felt I would get invited to something like this. I feel sometimes Ohio doesn't get as much national respect as California or Florida. But when I heard more about it and got the invitation, I told everybody that I wanted to be in it.

"I've always wanted to be an All-American."

Elliott will play on the East roster, joining linebackers Jermale Hines, Rolando McClain and others that have yet to be announced publicly. Elliott is pumped up about getting a chance to showcase his skills to a broader audience. The all-star game will be televised live by ESPNU.
"They're going to see why you all wanted me to come down and play in the game," Elliott said. "They're going to see how we do things in Ohio. They're going to see a guy that flies around and makes a lot of hard hits. I'm going to knock somebody's head off. I'm definitely going to make a big play. Just tell me what guy you want tackled, and I'll go get them."
Elliott has never been outside of Ohio and plans to use all of his allotted tickets to the game. He will have a big cheering section.
"This is a big deal," he said. "I've never really been outside of Ohio, so this will give me a chance to see what else is out there. My mom, dad and a couple of friends are going to be down there. We're really excited about it." When it comes to college, Elliott has always listed Ohio State as his top team. However, the Buckeyes have yet to offer him a scholarship. He says the Ohio State coaches recently have talked to him about signing him and placing him at Fork Union Military Academy, then he could enroll next spring as a freshman. Elliott also lists Cincinnati, West Virginia and Boston College as his top teams. He reports offers from Cincinnati, Indiana and Iowa.
