Clemson Offers Hotly Pursued WR

By Phil Kornblut
Clemson offered WR Nick Sukay (6-2 205) of Greensburg, PA last week. Sukay said he received a written offer from the Tigers and has also talked to a Clemson recruiter. Sukay has 29 offers and has not trimmed his list. Some of his other offers are Notre Dame, Michigan, Tennessee, Louisville, Colorado, West Virginia, Pittsburgh, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Michigan State, Boston College, Northwestern and Purdue. He does not have a favorite. Last season Sukay had 29 catches for 660 yards and 8 touchdowns. He also plays free safety and last season he had 58 tackles with 6 interceptions. He picked off 10 passes as a sophomore.

according to a few people I have spoken to, Jamie would be in the minority...most people who questioned Nick's ability to play WR at a BCS school left the camps with no doubts whatsoever. The beauty of the JT system is that we can bring him in as a SPEED player and figure out a position later...

I too think that he is very capable of being a WR at any school in the country, but I agree with Jamie in thinking that his better position would be S. Either way he is a great prospect and like you said you find a position when they get here.

I sure hope the staff feels confident on some of the other WR/S types we are after. Maybe the staff just likes guys like Torrence, Clifford, etc a little better than Sukay.

I am a big fan of Sukay and hope he doesnt choose PSU, but i still think we will be more than fine in our speed recruiting this year.
