Likely a token thread, but this kid is genuinely interested in OSU and has some decent offers...

By Crabtree...UCLA offered first, followed by Ole Miss and Oregon. Michigan and LSU are sending mail. He was born and raised in Ohio and has family there and would like to hear from OSU.

If our safety class weren't so talented last year and we didn't have so much depth there as it stands, I wouldn't have been surprised if E.J. were already offered this season. Though, we do have a ton of depth as safety and bigger needs elsewhere on the depth chart. Might hear more about E.J. down the road...but I think "token thread" could be right here.

Glad you brought this up, as I should qualify my "toekn thread" statement...I wasn't referring to Woods talent-level, but more the amount of players we took that could fill a similar role in last year's class.

For those in "the know"... is staff aware of this kid and his interest in OSU??

We did only take Oliver and Pentello in last year's class.. and I know some think Oliver will end up at OLB, and some dont think Pentello is a sure fire future impact player...

I really like this player, seems like the run attacking safety we lacked this past season...

I thin Pentello does look like a nice player down the road... and Oliver could very much end up in the role that Tyler Moeller looks like he will player this year.

Woods definitely loves the Buckeyes it seems, after watching his interview from Rivals. I would love to see an offer extended to him. Good size and a sure tackler. Hoe does he compare to McCarthy though? I have not seen much of Dan at Safety yet.

If the staff didn't know about him I'm sure they do by now. Does that translate into an offer? Still unlikely in my opinion, but trying to predict who will get an offer is nearly impossible.

One a side note, if you are selling Pentello short already you are making a HUGE mistake...

UCLA and Oregon have offered. More on growing up a fan of OSU.

Proof the coaches know about what is going on with regards to recruiting services:

1. A week ago Woods talks about wanting to hear from OSU.
2. A week later the staff has initiated contact.

This kid sounds like he wants to be a Buckeye...bad...

I didn't see it mentioned, but what type of safety prospect is E.J.?

Is he a ballhawking free safety, or a Dossian safety that likes to play near the line?

The guy looks to have all the measurables.

Are him and McCarthy similar type safeties, or does the staff even differentiate between the different safeties?

You've got to love how he still feels strongly about Ohio State even after beeing away for a while.

Seems like a true Buckeye.
