'08 FL DL Ben Jones (Miami-FL Signee)

I think I may like him best at DE, much like Heyward. They seem to have very similar measureables, but Jones is listed with the better speed. If Miami now wants him at OL, how does that affect his midset towards them? It seemed in past updates he was all DL, though maybe now that he is playing OL in high school it could change wheere he wants to play in college. He needs to step up a visit with us.

Benjamin says he still has a top three of Miami, tOSU, and LSU, but Clemson and Auburn are in constant contact. Miami is now recruiting him for OL.

I actually just watched the Miami NWestern game that was on EspnU and I was wanting to see Jones on D, but he played RT...To me, the positive about his recruitment was the fact that Miami had already recruited quite a few D-lineman, but now the fact that he is being recruited as an OT, leads me to believe that Jones will end up at Miami...

He is a very impressive looking athlete for his size, and I would love to be able to land him on the defensive side of the ball...

However, this could end up a lot like the Lamaar Thomas situation and mostly depend upon what position Ben wants to play in college.

That could very well be true, but when the rest of his team is going to Miami you would have to consider them the favorites as long as there is an offer on the table , no matter what position...

Agreed...Miami is 13th grade for Northwester, especially this year...

From CaneSport...talks about being at the Miami/A&M game. Plans to make officials to Ohio State, LSU, Ole Miss, Clemson and Auburn (not visiting Miami officially since he has been there so many times).

From the OSU site...Ben talks about Northwestern's season and says he is starting to hear more talk from college about possibly playing on the offensive side of the ball. Same favorites.

By M. Bakas. Jones talks about some of the players he has faced this season, and how he stacked up against them. He will set up visits to Clemson, LSU, Ohio State, Miami, and "probably" Auburn. He says that everyone is even at this point.

From CaneSport...says he pretty much knows where he wants to go but is not giving out any hints. Lists the same potential visit destinations.

Miami-bound unless one of these visits just absolutely blows him away...

Well, now that we've gotten Sabino and Howard. If the Bucks are still interested in Jones, perhaps they can use Sabino/Howard to reel him in. However, perhaps the staff is confident in getting Mobley and feeling that they just don't have room for Jones.
