It's good to see we were the 1st to offer, however, the day we get a big time prospect out of Maryland is the day Tressel dyes his hair pink,IMO.

In a way I agree, but if you look at the past two years b4 this we all thought we had Wallace(coaches told him to wait) and McCoy(MoC stuff hurt) locked up b4 they spurned us. We have at least made an effort in the state and quite a few kids have at least had us on their list.

Does Stan White Count....I mean I know his dad played for Woody but he was a Big time prospect out of Maryland.
Stan White, Jr. (Baltimore Gilman) doesn't count, neither does Shawn Springs (Silver Springs), since both were legacies. However, the Bucks did sign FB Scott Fulton (Dematha) as part of the class of 1997, and the year prior signed DE Kevin Johnson (Washington, DC). Going way back, Corny Greene came out of DC.

But the general point is well-taken: OSU has had many near misses in MD/DC in recent years: Wesley Jefferson (2003); Derrick Harvey (2004); Melvin Alaeze (2005); Rico McCoy (2005); A.J. Wallace (2006); Navorro Bowman (2006); and Joe Haden (2007); but no hits. Odds are that the Bucks will sign someone from that region in the near future.

You also gotta keep in mind that Maryland is Luke Fickell's territory. His recruiting prowess is something that I wouldn't bet against. Fickell's brought us a LONG way already in that state, just getting our foot in the door with some of those guys that LBJ mentioned. Our time will come in Maryland. Our time will come...
