'08 NJ ATH Brandon Smith (Michigan signee)

Hey guys, this is my first post, although I have been reading and appreciating all the great opinions and analysis that you all dish up at an almost dizzying pace to our sacred and beloved buckeyes for quite sometime. I want you to know that I love this site beyond words. Incredibly informative, up to date and intense!! Makes one proud to be Buckeye!! I humbly thank you all, and I'm loving this '08 class so far!

I have but one question for now: Are we pursuing this kid and if not, why not? I believe that this kid is an incredible athlete. I think, (I am here in Cali and am exposed to a surfeit of East Coasters), from what I have seen and heard from people out of Jersey, that this kid is every bit as talented as Will Hill, without anywhere near the accolades, and could play probably almost any place on the field, with the possible exception of the interior OL and DL, although I wouldn't put it past him, considering the likes of USC commitment Tyrone Smith.

I think it would be a big mistake if we take him lightly and I'd hate to miss out on this potential monster. But, worst of all, I had heard that Miss-she-again, was pursuing, in earnest, and that he had listed them as a top candy-date. I would appreciate any update. Thank you.

Brandon enjoyed his trip to Michigan and was assured Coach Carr would be coaching next season.
I wonder if this was a good thing to tell him or not? Coaching and player development are the obvious reason why Michigan has been playing so poorly recently. They have the athletes, but are clueless on how to utilize their talents.

Nice we got ourselves a rover in the 3-3-5

Yeah, you did. I, for one, really liked this guy from the start as a one of the toughest, grossly underrated, safety prospects out there. I have met some folks from NJ who say he is every bit as tough as Will Hill.
My only wish is that he becomes your QB!!!

Brandon Smith injured (bball game)
i was just at the north brunswick vs. new brunswick basketball game. In the third quarter he went down and had an injusry to his left leg/knee.
I am unsure exactly what the injury was but i can tell you it was deffinatly a serious injury. After lying on the floor being examinded for a good 15 20 min as well as having his older brother and mother come and talk to him about the injury, he was carried out of the school by two teamates. I am sure that you will have an update upon the injury within the next few days.
The game was threatened to be called off, but after a while the teams went into a different area to warm up again, and once Brandon was carried off, the teams finished the game. and yes Tiquan was there, shook hands with a few people on the New Brunswick side. The North Brunswick students were chanted his name twice, but he didnt acknowledge them much
