I wonder if we are also looking at Greer as a fullback, much like Will Compton. I don't think it has been mentioned here yet. He sounds like an EXCELLENT linebacker, so obviously he could have a shot there, too.

tOSU is still checking in to assess the FB position.

Also Northwestern is out. Syracuse, and Miami are suppose to call this week. Steve is still hearing from:

Rice
Eastern Michigan
Ohio State
Syracuse
Miami
Army
Air Force

Steve was named to the Cleveland Plain Dealer Allstar team this morning. Great honor in that it only included 22 guys from all of Northern Ohio.

Greer shooting up charts

By Jeremy Crabtree, Recruiting Editor ? Rivals.com

Solon, Ohio, inside linebacker Steve Greer had an impressive senior season, and the 6-foot-2, 218-poudner really has seen his stock shoot up with the college coaches late in the process.

"Everything is really starting to get busy for me recruiting wise right now," Greer said.

"This weekend I have a visit to Oklahoma State and next weekend I have a visit to North Carolina set up as well. Both schools are looking at me as a linebacker."

But the Cowboys and Tar Heels aren't the only ones interested.

"The Maryland coach just called me and let me know that they are very interested, too, and they're looking at me as a linebacker also," Greer said. "I do not have a top group yet, but I want to get on campus and get a feel for things before I narrow it down."

From the UNC site. Greer talks about the conversations he has had with coach Pagono leading up to his North Carolina visit this weekend. He adds that Michigan, Virginia, and Maryland have asked him to visit, but that he will not visit any school who hasn't offered him. He has no leader.

Congrats Greer family... Steve is going to get a great education at a beautiful school. Al Groh has pieced together some pretty good squads too. Carry on that hard hitting Ohio tradition.
