One thing that is not being taken into consideration. This kid could be moved to TE and or another position. Does he have QB experience??? This may be a gamble but darn i'd hate to give up a stud to another school and be kicking myself later.

Yeah that is kinda what I am getting at in a way...He very well could move, but either way he is going to have a learning curve...There are some kids out there that could very well feel the position and be just as good, but don't have the learning curve...

This is not a knock on Truesdell, just what you see when we are recruiting so good and we are doing it on a national level, with a limited number of schollies...

I am now hearing that Nick now has an offer from Cincinnati.

This situation reminds me so much of Domminck Goodman from Colerain in 2004. He went into the state title game with zero D1 football offers (had accepted a D2 offer to play b-ball) and ran for 250+ yards against McKinnley.

UC offered late, Findlay let him out of his LOI and this past season Goody was UC's leading receiver.

Following up H&G's info:

Nick visited UC this weekend and enjoyed it...the actual quote was:

He was at UC this weekend and had a great time. Took the ACT on Saturday morning and spent the rest of the weekend in Clifton.

UC is his only major offer at this point and certainly has the inside track, according to our Anderson source. But obviously other schools are still in the evaluation process so Nick might hold off to see who else offers.

As H&G said, our Truesdell source thinks his ceiling is much higher with football and that is the most likely route.

Certainly and I of course trust the staff's decision far above mine. I think he has a huge ceiling on top of so many great assets, so I would love to see a project-type guy in this class like Truesdell. I was nearly sold on Scruggs but I much prefer Nick now. I agree it would be taking a risk but it's one that could really pay off.

I don't know how comfortable Nick was with all the attention...I think he found a situation that works and decided to jump on it. All of a sudden he went from a near unknown to having the next four years of college being paid for at a Big East school...not bad. Best of luck to Nick at UC...

I dont know much about the team they played in the finals, but all I do know is........all Anderson had to do was drop back and throw it up. There was a 3rd and 18 or so play, where they threw one up to him. He was behind 2 DB's, and easily just went up and grabbed it over them. What I was most impressed with was the kickoff return he had. He can really move, side to side, has straight speed, but also ran over have the coverage team.

I posted this on the HS game thread, but figured I would add it in here as well for thos wondering. I sat next to the brother of the Anderson head coach at the game, and he informed me that Nick was very soft at the beginning of the season, and that drew alot of concern. He just started coming on toward the end of the season, and the playoffs.

I wish Nick all the sucess in the world. I've already proclaimed myself to be the board's worst "I told you so". I going on record, I'm running my gums; Nick will be a future great one.:)
