'08 OH WR Trey Fairchild (Syracuse signee; transfer to EKU; transfer to Otterbein)

Trey's video is one of the top 2 or 3 videos I've seen of this 2008 recruiting season. He reminds me a LOT of Santonio Holmes. Very quick, jukes you outta your shoes, catches well, breaks tackles, has breakaway speed in open space, AND he returns kicks. He's gonna be a special one at the next level.

Put me on the Fairchild bandwagon. If some of our WR prospects fall through, I'd love to see Trey in S&G.

I'm right there with you inthe bandwagon, Twenty. Great videos, and with measurables like TF has, I say bring him in and put him somewhere.

ESPN, Scouts,Inc. Evaluation

Trey Fairchild
WR | 6'0" 185

Hometown: Dublin, OH
School: Dublin Coffman
Region: MidWest Status: Undeclared
Last Updated: 4/9/2007 Data provided by Scouts, Inc.

Scouts Grade: 77
Considering: 1-Syracuse , 2-Duke , 3-Ball State , 4-Ohio State , 5-Northwestern
Evaluation: This guy is our type of player. Fairchild is a hybrid wide receiver/running back, but he is all football player and reminds us a lot of former Ohio State WR Anthony Gonzalez. He simply gets the job done and he possesses tremendous top end speed although it is not immediately evident on film. You really need to watch him and as you see him get into space, very few people will run him down. He shows excellent toughness to go inside and catch in traffic. He is will give his body up to make a play. He is excellent to bounce off defenders and keep his feet after contact. He has excellent hands ? catches everything. He shows excellent body control to catch outside his frame. He does an excellent job of high-pointing the football down field. He possesses excellent quickness and good overall play speed. He shows a burst and 2nd gear to go get the ball vertically. He is quick off the snap ? can get on top of the corner quickly. There are more players at the WR spot who are more sudden and explosive, but this guy just makes plays and he lulls defedners to sleep becasue it is tough for them to judge what type of speed he has. he can be a little rigid in his movements sometimes, but you love his instincts and ability to come up with the big play. This is the type of player coaches want on their team because he is so reliable and he will make the clutch play. Good overall prospect with upside to surprise down the road.

I'm sure I am joined by many others on these boards in hopes for Trey to get his offer. Always enjoy seeing Ohio kids staying home and this would be a great get. It is, however, a total pisser that there are so few spots and so many offers already in play.

I'd rather see Peade, Adams, and Woods get offers before he does.

Trey picked up an offer from Navy this week and was visited at school by the likes of Northwestern and Stanford. Indiana and Michigan State are also talking about offers...

I don't know what Michigan State's problem is. They have like ten offers out right now. I don't think they can afford to wait. This new guy may be a better coach in the long run but he isn't off to the greatest start of rebuilding his program.
