'08 OH WR Trey Fairchild (Syracuse signee; transfer to EKU; transfer to Otterbein)

Thanks BuckPhin - for those that do not know there is a video out there on this thread - way back there on page 2.

BTW - I think the 2007 class will be fine. Honestly with all the great players in 2008 and at this position, Trey may not be a fit, this is nothing against his ability, but sometimes we all must look at reality. It is tOSU and not everyone can play there, so I hope he finds a home somewhere to further education (study law) and play some football. Thanks to all for the support on here.

Coffman's Trey Fairchild scores on a 65-yard punt return to help the Shamrocks to a 35-14 victory over Mentor Lake Catholic.

^^^ Family comes first for us and Michigan State understands. I think the MSU coaches saw the character in the choice. Based on our interest in NU however we are making him go to NU and it maybe with another relative. His sister has the districts that day. Yesterday she earned All-Conference as the individual champion of the OCC and he team was also the champions.

Congrats to your daughter! Sounds like you have a truly gifted family, both in terms of athletics, as well as class. I applaud the way in which you have approached this crazy world of recruiting. My fingers are crossed for Trey. I'm sure he'll achieve great things wherever he goes to college, I just really hope to see it happen at tOSU.

Thank you. God Directs our lives and so we know that whatever happens will be His will. That does not mean however in the crazy world of recruiting that you do not have to let people know who you are.

I would be excited too. tOSU has not officially offered Trey a scholarship and so this gives him an opportunity to show his wares at an up and rising school. It also gives him access to some great coaching. What's not to be excited about?????

Let me clarify on a couple issues:

1. In my mind, there is a difference between coaching and gameplanning. By going to the Pitt camp Trey will receive some great coaching on fundamental football.

2. If you do not think that a guy who was an Assistant Coach for the Dallas Cowboys and the HC for the Chicago Bears and Miami Dolphins, is NOT a good coach, and can help a High School athlete, you are fooling yourself.

His dad was on Pitt's Scout board the other day saying how excited they are to be going to Pitt's junior day on Feb. 17th.

We are absoltely excited to go to Pitt's junior day on the 17th. Why wouldn't we? We are also excited about the junior days at Cincinnati and Northwestern. Anytime you get a chance to go to a D1 school for a visit you need to take advantage of it.
