Height: 5-foot-6
Weight: 157 lbs
Forty: 4.4 secs
Shuttle: 4.2 secs
Vertical: 28 inches
Academics: 4.28 GPA
2006 stats (rushing): 196 carries, 1,045 yards, 12 TD's
2006 stats (receiving): 17 receptions, 309 yards, 2 TD's
2006 stats (returning): 5 TD's on kick returns, 2 TD's on punt returns

About time to start a thread on this guy. No smoke yet, but with D.J. Woods having committed to Nebraska, no offers to Isaiah Pead or Johnny Adams, and the southern CB's being long shots, we might as well add Saddler into the mix.

There is a story of the commitment on Scout already.
Well, wouldn't you know.... now I see it. If Saddler can pack on some more weight (say, 15 or so pounds) and has skills like Brandon James of FL, he wouldn't be as bad an option as many would think. James was a very solid return man and Mr. Urban Meyer has not problem at all brining him in. We have other guys that could return kicks/punts, but some guys just have a knack for it... James does, Teddy did, and it looks like Saddler does too. I don't know if Lamaar Thomas has it, it would be nice, but I do know Brandon Saine does. Saine and Saddler back there could be pretty lethal.

BG is dead on. Had to watch way too much UF down here last year, but Brandon James was great (2-star recruit at 5-7, 175 lbs). Probably 5 return TDs called back due to holding as well. If Saddler returns kicks like that kid...and that's all he ever did...totally worthy of a scholarship IMO. Roll of the dice, but with the possible package deal with Hale, might be something to consider more strongly at this point.

Okay, I split off posts that either (a) contained premium info, or (b) dealt with the Woods commitment, or (c) both....

Now onto Saddler.... This spring, Gateway head coach Terry Smith visited Ohio State with Shayne Hale, Cameron Saddler, and two junior prospects. Apparently, the visit went well, and everyone came away impressed with Ohio State. Cameron has recently mentioned that he at one time liked Ohio State, but because he has no offer, he is looking elsewhere (primarily Michigan, Virginia, and West Virginia, and possibly Syracuse).

Now, would an Ohio State offer rekindle Saddler's interest in the Buckeyes? Maybe, maybe not....

And is Ohio State interested in a 5-foot-6 KR/PR/CB? Doesn't look that way at the moment, but Saddler has been impressive at camps, he produces on the field, he is very solid in the class room, and he is Shayne Hale's cousin and close friend.

Like I said, no smoke yet, and certainly no fire, but now might be a good time for the Buckeye staff to re-evaluate Mr. Saddler....

Covered the Akron 7x7 today.

Great kid/personality. Very talkative on and off field, but also personable. Very explosive, good hands, plays with an edge and with no regard for his own size. He was a standout today, bullying WRs (often getting flattened in the process), plowing through/into LBs after an occasional route, eluding defenders, and snagging a nice interception (all on video).

I would love Saddler as a CB if he gained 2.5" and 10 lbs. Definitely a bit slim, but that doesn't stop him from lowering his head at a defender, or trying to get physical with a WR. I love the heart he showed out there.

Gotta say, I was much more impressed with Saddler in person than on film. While I think his size is a concern, I've joined the Saddler fanclub along with Bill Greene.

How can a kid of this size be related to Shayne Hale?? or vice versa.

I'm 5 inches taller and 50-60 pounds heavier than my younger brother (7 years younger...my only sibling), so the size difference between Hale and Saddler as cousins is not surprising at all.

What does he show in person that cannot be seen on film?

Also, what is stopping the staff from offering him now that Woods has gone to Lincoln? Do they prefer Adams and Pead instead?

By the way, does Saddler remind anybody of that KR down at LSU? Thanks.

Saddler reminds me of marquis maze. I was so happy when we got him everybody said if he was 3 to 4 inches taller he would be a 5 star(His videos were almost Reggie Bush good.), then Lloyd pulled his schollie. Maze will be the next Ryan Brewer.

P.S. Sorry for getting off topic
