'08 PA TE/WR Jonathan Baldwin (Pitt Signee)

Baldwin did run this at a camp but it was a HAND-TIME.

This reminds me of David Terrell winning an award for running a "4.31" at Penn State's camp, when in reality he was probably a 4.5 kid.

Baldwin is more than likely a 4.5 kid, which is pretty damn good speed when you consider the fact he's 6'5, 220 pounds.

But if fans claim that he's a 4.5 kid before he steps foot on campus, he probably runs a 4.6

I don't know what he runs for sure.

4.5 would be my guess and it's what most list him as. One thing is for certain though, this kid is not slow. He's very fast, especially when you consider just how big he is.

This is the highly thought of PA recruiting writer that I have referenced before. This is from his early top 10 list in PA.

4. Jonathan Baldwin, Aliquippa HS (Aliquippa)- Very athletic and quick wide receiver prospect with a superb 6?6? 220 pound frame. Also a major basketball prospect with an offer from Marquette, but in football, he already has offers from Michigan, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, and Georgia Tech. His father played at Pitt, and Aliquippa has sent many players to Pitt, but Baldwin currently claims that Michigan is the early favorite.

Good find cheetah!

I agree, it's a loaded year in PA in comparison to 2007. 2007 was a real down year in PA.

Jonathan Baldwin, Aliquippa -- USC just offered Baldwin a scholarship Wednesday. A 6-6, 220-pound receiver/tight end/defensive end, Baldwin also has offers from Pitt, Penn State, Ohio State and Michigan, among others.

But Baldwin also is talented in basketball and insists he might choose to play that sport in college.

See Jon run

It's not often you see a 6-6, 220-pound athlete turn into a top sprinter in track. But that's what has happened this year at Aliquippa.

Jonathan Baldwin, a junior better known for his football and basketball talent, is one of the top 100- and 200-meter sprinters in the WPIAL. His time of 10.8 seconds in the 100 ties for the best in the WPIAL this season. His 200 time of 22.3 is third. He also runs on Aliquippa's 400-meter relay team that has the second-best WPIAL time (43.5).

Baldwin did not run track last year. As a freshman, he ran the 400 and 1,600 relay.

"I came out this year because I wanted to stay in shape for football," Baldwin said. "[Aliquippa track coach] Sherman McBride wanted me to run, too. He does a lot for me, so I thought I'd do this for him."

Sherman McBride was a teammate of mine at OU. I wondered what he was up to. He was a very fast wr/kr.

tOSU looks to want another TE badly. I hope they get a speedy one that can stretch the field. Baldwin could be that guy.

6/15

From Pitt's camp he claims six favorites but can only name four and they are Pitt, Michigan, USC, and Notre Dame.

I think he is Pitt's to lose. They have a pipeline to Aliquippa and his dad played there.

I grew up a Pitt fan before going to Ohio State and most are fatalistic. If he doesn't go to Pitt, he will go to Michigan, but I doubt he goes away from Pitt. Aliquippa is basically a branch campus for Pitt and Baldwin is a regular on campus.

By the way, he was at Pitt's camp today and was wearing a straw hat with Pitt on it.
