'09 CA PF Renardo Sidney (Mississippi State Signee)

Ohio State recently started to make a push for Sidney and their efforts seem to have paid off to this point......there is a long way to go but this is definetly positive when you are the only school mentioned. Watch this one closely for the next few months.........

I think the questions about his work ethic are pretty well grounded. He sometimes shows up at tournaments out of shape and doesn't display consistent effort or intensity in all his games.

Coaches can't officially offer a prospect until they reach a certain point in HS, but I can't remember exactly when that is, but rest assured he has a verbal offer......

So why don't we list him that way as Sullinger, Thomas and others have been.

As a hoops phenom, Sidney growing up fast

Now 17, Sidney grew up in Mississippi, but his father, Renardo Sr., made the decision to move his family out to Los Angeles a year ago in the wake of Hurricane Katrina and the aftermath of his son being forced to sit out his entire freshman season at Piney Woods High because he lived too far from the school.

Ben Howland of UCLA is in pursuit. So is USC's Tim Floyd. Ohio State's Thad Matta has been a fixture at Sidney's games. Texas is also in the mix ? as is Memphis and Florida.

There's virtually nothing this kid is unable to do on the court. He can score in the post or on the perimeter. At his size, he's got some Magic Johnson to his game in terms of his court vision and passing ability. He can dominate on the glass and is also an imposing shot-blocker.
