'09 OH JUCO PF Marquis Mathis (West Florida Commit)

OSUBasketballJunkie

Never Forget 31-0
MARQUIS MATHIS

Ht: 6-7
Wt: 221

Cincinnati State

Bucknuts.com$ (Jeff Rapp)

Hoopster Mathis Could Be Top '09 Candidate.......Mathis is considered raw but very athletic. Played at World Harvest his junior along with B.J. Mullens. Averaged 11.5 points, 7.3 rebounds coming off the bench. Ohio State is recruiting him and he calls being a Buckeye would be a dream come true.

Dispatch

The top target is 6-9 Daniel Orton of Oklahoma City, but he?s looking more and more like he?s Kentucky-bound. If that?s the case, next in line could be Mullens? former teammate at Harvest Prep, 6-7, 220-pound Marquis Mathis. How Mathis plays as a sophomore at Cincinnati State next season could determine whether he gets an offer from Matta in the spring.

If a scholarship is available:(, I would almost want to bank it for the 2010 guys. We have quite a few leapers as it is and 6'7" does not do a whole lot for me but it really depends if he is a big 6'7" were a small 6'7". In my opinion, there is a difference.

Out of curiosity, I wondered where/if he'd signed with anyone. I googled him and found him on the University of WEST FLORIDA site. Never heard of them but that seems to be where he landed.
I will save some people some time:wink2: West Florida is located in Pensacola and as an undergraduate population of around 9000. Sounds interesting:)
