Hamilton's Allen narrows list

Hamilton senior LB Denicos Allen has narrowed his college choices to Cincinnati, Illinois and Wisconsin, according to Hamilton football coach Jim Place. The three schools have each made an offer.

Allen, who is 6 feet and 206 pounds, is rated the No. 12 player in the state by Ohio High Magazine.

FWIW, he did want to come to Illinois badly but was asked to wait on his commitment because their shots with Hawatha Bell and Jelani Jenkins, among others are increasing by the day. I think he is going to be a very good player for MSU, especially when they play Illinois.

EAST LANSING - There's been a lot of playmakers this season for the Michigan State defense, but sophomore linebacker Denicos Allen is becoming one of the biggest among them.

Allen began to open eyes with a flying, sprawling sack on Ohio State quarterback Joe Bauserman on Oct. 1 in Columbus, jumping over Buckeyes running back Jordan Hall and then dragging Bauserman to the ground.

He's been coming up huge since for the Spartans - and it continued Saturday night.
